I was born a poor black child in the ghetto.
Oh wait.
I was actually born in Cherry Hill, NJ in 1974. Which means that I will be
30 this year. /cry
I grew up in NJ and moved to Middletown, Connecticut for my first 2 years of high school. There I attended an all boys Catholic school and played Football, Ice Hockey and I Wrestled.
My junior year of HS, we moved to Maryland. I went from a fairly urban area to an extremely rural community. Upon starting school, I was startled to find that they had no Hockey or Wrestling teams, but I did play football.
To give you an idea of how small the school was. In CT, I was a second string Guard on the JV team.
In Maryland, the team was so small, that I started varsity my junior year at 3 positions. (FB, LB, Punter)
When spring rolled around, the football coach suggested I try out for lacrosse, as the school I went to was actually very good. I tried it, and loved it. It was a perfect fit for me.
I graduated in 1992 and wasn't really sure what I wanted to do. I could have gone to college right away as my grades and SAT's were decent, and a few small schools wanted me to play football. I really wanted to play lacrosse, but only having 2 years of experience hurt me as far as recruitment went.
So, based on my coach's recommendation, I played a year of junior college lacrosse at Harford County Community College which at the time was among the top 10 JUCO programs in the country. After that, I was offered a partial scholarship to West Virginia University, which was in the process of starting its varsity program up.
They recruited a lot of JUCO guys since they were a bit more physically mature than the average freshman and it was felt they could compete at a higher level initially.
So I packed up my shit and went to WVU which, at the time, was the number one party school in Playboy for like six years running and it did not disappoint. In fact, it is such a party school, that they stopped ranking it, saying "All these other schools are amateurs. WVU is a professional party institution, so we will no longer be ranking it alongside these other schools as it is not fair."
I decided to major in Criminal Justice with a minor in Constitutional Law because my dream was to become an FBI agent.
Unfortunately, shortly after we all got there, Prop 13 was passed, and the athletic department was suddenly desperate to fund a bunch of women's sports so that they wouldn't be in violation.
So, girls' crew and soccer went varsity, and they made us a club team.
I got my scholarship for that season and had to pay for the rest of the time I spent there. However, we immediately became one of the best club teams in all of college lacrosse. We scrimmaged and beat many varsity teams and lost to the Naval Academy one year and the University of Maryland the next in the championship for the National Collegiate Lacrosse League
My sophmore year, I tore my ACL in a game against Ohio Wesleyan. It sucked and I had the reconstruction and did a year of rehab. By my senior year, I was really ready to play. The team made me a captain because of the effort I put into coming back.
Three games into my senior season, during a game at Frostburg State in MD, in which my fiancee' was in attendance, an attackman rolled into my leg and my knee got royally fucked up. I retore the SAME ACL as well as all three other ligaments, tore cartillage and dislocated my kneecap.
That pretty much assured that I would never get a job in the FBI. After 2 years and 3 operations, I was finally able to run again, but I still limp a little.
Anyway, because I spent so much time laid up, I discovered a little game called Everquest and between the painkillers and EQ, 1995-1997 are pretty much a blur.
I finally graduated in 1997 and got a job working for the probation department in Camden NJ. It sucked. So I spent a summer framing houses.
I eventually had my fiancee' move to NJ and she took a job in Philly while
I managed a trucking terminal doing the night shift.
After seven years together. The combination of this shift and her being apart from her family, tore us apart and the wedding was called off and she moved back to Maryland and married one of my friends.
Meanwhile, I totally went off the deep end. I moved to Fells Point in Baltimore and went out every night. I spent like $6000 in savings in three months pretty much exclusively on beer.
I lost my job and moved back home with my parents.
So I started playing games even more and realized it was my first real love. I started dating an old friend from college and we moved in together, and moved to VA. I took a job here doing tech support for a software company and am pretty happy with where I've gotten to.
Whats your RL story?
My names Daniel. I grew up in Peekskill , NY about 45 minutes North of the city. Close to Yonkers, right on the side of a mountain that runs into the Hudson River. The city of Peekskill is a tough place to grow up, but I enjoyed my youth there, and now i feel pretty much prepared for anything. I played sports my whole life, in highschool I played Basketball, Baseball, and Football for 4 years. We won the NY state championships 2 years in a row for basketball so I really got a lot of publicity. I was recruited to a couple schools for basketball and football, including Division 1 St.Johns. Ultimatly I chose Rochester Institute of Tech, because they paid in full for my first year of school. Here I met my life long friends...
Rochester, or as I like to call it, the Spine of he World, is a really fun place to live if you have good people surrounding you. The adventures and memories ive had in that city often remind me how lucky I was to have lived there at that time of my life.
I graduated from Rochester in November of 2004. It was an awkward time to graduate, after one quarter of the year and I felt almost lost. After 5 and 1/2 years in Rochester, it was hard to leave, it was like my new home. But I yearned for adventure, and a warmer climate. So, i packed up my car, grabbed my bearded dragon Hermes, said my goodbies to my family and friends, then took to the road.
I met Xplo and Dyarg in Maryland, where we got drunk, drove down to charslton SC stayed with my good friend, got drunk, into New Orleans to see my best friends brother, partied, met Dwayne in Austin TX, got a nice backrub from a littler man with small smooth hands, El Paso, tequilla, and finally venice Beach california, love.
I currently live on the venice beach boardwalk where from my room I can see the ocean, hear the drums, and smell the incence from the boardwalk. I commute everyday to malibu for work, about 20 mins, where I was recently hired on as a game tester part time, then promoted to full time test lead, now I am the marketing cooridnator for the companys girl toy line ... heh. it is a good job, malibu is rad, and i love the women. But, who knows where I will be in 1 year. For now though, I am happy.
As for my beach babe, she is out there. Ive seen her.

Himmlischer here, born and raised in Kassel, Germany. Been playing games since I was a small kid, my dad also played and encouraged me, unfortunately he passed away when I was 16. I started playing UO when it came out on the atlantic server and was a rather infamous PK and lead a tight guild.
About 2 years ago I came to the US to meet Jahlria as we had been good friends from UO for many years. I have only gone back briefly and we will be married next month in Germany where we will make our home.
Jahlria is from Westchester County NY, a small town not far from Peekskill, but we moved to TN last August as she couldnt get a good job, she teaches elementary school. Drutt told her to come to TN for a job so we did and luckily we havent seen him here. She also has a 10 year old daughter who sometimes plays DAOC.
I started DAOC here in the beginning to play with Jahl but went to a german server and lead a huge rvr guild and alliance in Hibernia. I prefer Hibernia but Jahl hates it.

my story
Well might not be that interesting as some of these stories, but nevertheless here we go....
I was born in North Vancouver BC Canada in 1980. I was an only child so i was practically spoiled rotten. My dad left when i was 2 because my mom did not want to marry him. You see, my mom is Native American and my dad is not, so if she married him, she and I would have lost her Native American status in Canada. Back in the day they had stupid rules like that. And she didnt want us to lose our status so they split. From then on in, she went thru a bunch of boyfriends - drinking and drugging her way thru life. I was always shipped off to my grandparents house where i was practically raised.
I was always in the best schools and even tho my mother would party every weekend, she worked very hard for me throughout my life. She always made sure i had clean clothes, food, and she always made sure i made it to school on Monday morning - with freshly drycleaned school uniform.
Anyways that was my childhood - teenage years i followed her same path. I got caught drinking at 12 and quit school when i was 13. I went back to high school and changed my life around. I played a lot of sports and even tho i still liked to party - i did NOT want to be like my mother.
Graduation came along and i found out i was pregnant. Most of my friends didnt know what to do with the information cause not many people graduate from a private catholic school pregnant. So i lost many of my friends after high school.
My family was very upset that i was having a baby right out of high school, but i fought for my baby and refused to do anything to harm her.
1999 came and i was blessed with a beautiful baby daughter. Being a single mother was extremely difficult. My mom still drank and drugged all the time and i did NOT want my daughter growing up like i did.
9 months went by and I met a guy online - he was in ohio and i was still in canada. We eventually fell inlove and i moved to ohio with my daughter. We lived there for awhile then we moved back to canada so i can go to college. He moved with us. This is where we were introduced to DAOC, my bf wanted me to make a toon but i refused for months. Then one night i was bored and said, "what the hell" and made a RM - not knowing anything about the game or anything like that, she SUCKED huge , lol she couldnt even kill a blue solo - so i made a healer, and that what i still play today. Who knew that i would have more playtime than my bf who got me into the game to start with
I was not a person who would get addicted to a game like this at all. But..here i am
still going strong
My mom couldnt handle that i left home. She knew it was because of her lifestyle. She went to a treatment center and because clean. She wanted to be able to see her granddaughter and i told her she couldnt if she was drunk or high. She quit drinking and drugging in April of 2001 and has been clean since.
Me and my now fiance got our own place after he found a job and i was looking into finishing my schooling in Oregon. Then we found out we were expecting a child of our own.
May 2003 we had a beautiful healthy baby boy. At 24, my family is complete and i'm super happy with the way everything turned out.
And here we are today - still playing DAOC.

40’ish (most likely making me the oldest member). Undergrad from UCLA , JD from Bolt Hall/Cal Berk. HS & college cheerleader and was a Tri Delt. Born to a gentile southern belle and a rough tough Texan whose passion is politics and hardware stores. Practiced contract labor law for several years, putting in upwards of 100 hrs per week, became a Junior Partner, then one day stood up to grab a file and woke in the hospital. Ripe old age of 36, I’d had a stroke. My whole right side was paralyzed. Long story short, it took 9 months of therapy, and I’m fully recouped with the exception of only two working fingers on my right hand (when I’m tired they don’t do well, so don’t scream at me, I do my best).
On my 2nd marriage for 16 yrs, no children of my own. My husband is 10 yrs my senior and has 2 grown awesome, beautiful, smart daughters. We are avid skiers and go to Aspen ever February, we white water raft in Colorado end of July and in between he’s a golf nut and I like to play computer games, sew and work hard at keeping slim, trim and stress free. I’m 5”6, weigh 132 and will never drown, lol. He travels a lot for the family business and I’m now semi-retired at his request, which gives me a lot of free time. I’m spoiled, pampered and stubborn, but I have a kind heart and you will find me far from greedy. My hubby is also first, second and third in my life, but he’s very sweet about my game time. He’s athletic, handsome and still makes my heart go pitter patter We love to dance, share everything and have some awesome friends we party with. I still play some tennis and can’t golf worth a shiznit. I also have a temper and a half and take very little crap off anyone, but grit my teeth well
I’ve played Diablo, Asheron’s Call, SB, SWG and Ultima Online (6yrs and still have an active acct), and have played DAOC since beta but quit twice (first time 6 mos, 2nd time 8 mos). I love to RvR and want to at least hit RR8 one of these days. With my hand that is a big goal to accomplish and I’m proud of what I’ve done so far.
I want to think you for the invite and welcome into BWC and hope to prove to be a valuable asset to the guild.

I grew up in a little town called Spearfish, in South Dakota. Everything was beautiful, and nothing hurt. When I was 13 I moved with my parents to Colorado, which now is one of my favorite places in the world. My parent's teach leadership principles to hardcore missionaries, and so I spent my childhood with lots of traveling. I've spent alot of time in South Africa, which is my other favorite place in the world. It was an interesting childhood - moving alot, seeing tons of the world and culture - I wouldn't trade it in for anything.
I moved out of my parent's house when I was 18 - did some community college, got an associates in computer networking technology. Moved to Kansas City for a year, got my heart broken, met another girl. Now I'm headed to Iowa, just for a change of pace - to have an adventure, make some fun. I have no clear life goals, except to become fluent in spanish and american sign language. I have no major resposibilities, and am not tied down - so I'm just gonna float around, have some fun - make life interesting. I'm 21 now, happy, looking forward to the future, but living in the moment. At the moment, I'm on a farm for a month to recuperate before Iowa. Life is crazy, I have no idea how I end up in the places I do - but I'm having fun. It'll be weird to live in a small town in Iowa, coming from the big city and experiencing lots of world culture growing up - but it will be a rich experience. I'm all about experiencing diversity. There's alot out here to do.
I hooked up with BWC a long time ago, when I was a level 36 thane. I remember it exactly - I was in a group with Ugnot in spindel, and we had a few members log out pissed, so he and I and some other guy were stuck deep in spindel; i had leveled recently and ugnot was close to leveling, so i disbanded, ran out - took all the aggro and died, as Ugnot run behind me safely. Yah, that's right. I'll sacrifice for the team. Since then, I've met up with Rolo, old cryhavoc and ratpick, ugnot, basically the OG BWC crew - and they seemed to like me. Maybe it's because I'm such a badass. Or maybe it's because they pay me monthly to mention their names in my posts. I'm not sure, but it may also having to do with the fact that they felt sorry for me and my little thane. But they kept me, and here I am today. I'll join no other guild for the rest of my days.

I was born and raised in Long Beach, Cali. As of now, i have 6 siblings... 5 boys and 1 girl (not including me). Just turned 22
6'4 (ducks from a flood of Rhiandra kisses)
I was born into a pretty heavily religeous family, and as a younger Flip (real name is Philip, or Phil whichever you prefer) was pretty rebellious towards my parents beliefs/way of raising me. So of course everything they told me NOT to do, that i did. At the age of 12 we moved from Cali to Oregon which i reside now, and i LOVE it. Such a beautiful place to live. In Oregon is where i started to go downhill in life, drugs/women ect... School was of course a challenge because of the lifestyle. So one day i decide i dont need my family and left the house to live with a friend. That of course didnt work out well considering i was a complete bum and had no work (age 17). SO i picked myself up and got a job at a little market, met a really nice older lady, who had compassion on me and took me in as her own. Bought me a computer, and found the escape of DaoC from reality. Started a druid on Lancelot/Hib and rolled with an old' school guild called The Wards of Destiny. After a while i got sick of the alb "zerg" and left for Mid/merlin and made Flipout then quit the game for a while. After a year, got sick of the boredom of life, and re-installed the game.... met Rhiandra and started rolling in BWC groups in emain. Which i have to say is quite a talented bunch of individuals
So here i am in BWC, and here to stay.
