Its such a hard drug to legalize because of the ease of growing it. Not to mention, a goverment controlled quality would be hard to maintain. And, you cannot even begin to compare mexi shwag with BC Bud or Quebec Gold.

Ok let me mention a rather large problem with legalizing marijuana. When it comes to this subject I'm split 50-50.

I used to be a HUGE pothead (ask Rolo or GL) and yea I drove while I was high all the time. But to people who only smoke weed once in a while, they are severely impaired when it comes to driving. Hell if I smoked now I wouldn't feel confident being on the road (I haven't smoked in months so I would get pretty fucked up) So I'm sure there are plenty of people who should NOT be on the road when they are stoned. These being the occasional smokers and people who can't handle it.

Now the seemingly simple solution to this is to make it illegal to drive while stoned (like a DUI for weed). The problem with this is there is no way to test if someone is high on pot. Yes their eyes might be bloodshot and they might smell like weed but people could have these symptoms and not be high (be really tired and sit in a room where people are smoking weed) Since weed stays in your system for over a month, (give or take) there is no way to test people for their "blood weed level". So since the police can not prove that someone is high while driving they can not punish them for it. Which means those people who shouldnt been on the road when they are stoned will be able to get away with it.

Thats the problem I see with legalizing marijuana. I wonder how places like Amsterdam and Vancouver deal with this issue. Maybe someone can enlighten me?

concerning the car issue, im assuming the people of Amsterdaam and Vancouver do not yeild the amount of cars per person American has. Just a thought.

With the driving issue, there doesn't need to be a "test" to see if you high, IF your so high to the point that you cant drive, that shit is noticable. But now that brings unnessisary harrasment by police officers towards suspected marijuana users. Be an interesting debat ^_^

Yes, if someone is really fucked up, you will be able to tell if they are high or not, but just 'seeing' something isn't enough. If they can't test for it, then how will they prosecute you for driving while you are high?

Time to think outside the box, its 2004 if there under the influences of it and they get pulled over for it, bam pull them in, take a test, if he has marijuana in his system then probbably he was high when he was pulled over. That can make a case.

Me i can drive n smoke as much as i want, the marijuana doesn't effect my drive right or die lobe. So i drive like im sober no matter how much i smoke, i dont want to hit or kill anything or anyone

Yeah, If your high enough for it to effect your driving, they'll be able to tell.

As for the quality issue, that is a valid point. But I'm pretty sure if they ran the market like cigarettes, there would be high and low end brands.

Its all about the quality now, fuck that weak shit. The government can easily control and take over the marijuana market. Who cares if people grow, import it, etc etc. With it being legal, dealers will lose money, and evuntally it wont even be worth smuggling into the us. Plus we can use hemp for paper instead of cutting down tree's. also we can use the methane thats produced from it to make energy. Also with legalizing it, we'll eventually free up thousands of places in prison where people where unfairly sentenced to spend to long of time for to little of penatly. Motherfucking Rapists are getting paroll before drug dealers. ENOUGH FUCKING SAID.

Edit: I'll still grow it if its legal, cause its free to grow, but if they make it legal, it wont be worth it for starting dealers to grow cause they wont make the profit, if you have the clones then its all gravity.

You guys are saying you can tell if someone is high. Well you want it to be up to the police to decide if you are stoned? There is no way to prove in a court of law that you were stoned at the time you were driving. What if the cop doesnt like you? They can say you were high and it would be your word against his. Fuck that.

EDIT: I work 12 hours a day sometimes and when its 2am and I'm all strung out and driving home I probably look like I'm stoned.... slightly delirious and bloodshot eyes. I dont want a DUI ticket.
