would just like to announce that a few accounts out there have been recently hacked/stolen from my guild Infortis Ov Foresti Kaalecan Andwill 50 hunter and Toza Spiritbinder 50 Spiritmaster along with about 10 alts on mid merlin and 10-20 alts acrossed all servers were stolen/hacked today kaalecan was given a url to checkout and she tried it when she got to the url it was a zip file download and she accepted it when it was unzipped the program logged her into daoc she did something verry stupid at this point and entered her password next thing uyou know she isnt allowed to access her account because the password is incorrect the charecter who provided the url was someone she has grouped with several times and the program was supposed to adjust the gamma of the vid card for night time in daoc this was totally fraudulent in what it claimed and the program was actually a client that changes the account password and email address to someone elses setup basically it is a hack out there for people to steal all your stuff and leave you broke and destitute the url was www10.brinkster.com/mysticowne/stTestBeta16.zip please advise others to avoid this url and not take the risk of having the hard work anyone has put into their charecter at jeapordy the player who provided kaalecan with the url was Shoras not sure what guild he was in but it was him

just to inform you all i have gotten my account back and of course she was stripped of all items and equiptment please be verry careful on what you download and who ingame you trust

Kaalecan was the first person i ever grouped with in DAOC... i hated how she out leveled me in a week.. i was stuck at 23, and she was pushing 35 =(.

if you need any hunter items,.. i think i have a few HL GC bows in my vualt you can keep.. send Djur a tell in game.. he will hit ya up

wow, that name brings back bad memories from EQ, Shoras on EQ was disliked and untrusted for similar hacking account reasons, trades that shouldve been called thefts and numerous other reasons...... I sure hope this isnt the same person.


Would a person be that stupid to use the same name and start the same crap in two different gaming forums? Much suckage.


Hopefully, if you supplied Mythic with that URL that they are working diligently to ensure their site/log-in screen will not be able to be linked from it any longer.

Sorry you and your guild had to feel the brunt of rip off artist in any capacity, hope everything works out well for you and the others.
