Ok first of all, my first MMORPG was DAoC. As we all know, Mythic has some problems fixing varoius bugs, nerfing/boosting classes etc. Well ok, to be honest, Mythic has ALOT of problems.
Anyways, i thought that it was just the company being retarded, but then i went and bought EVE.
As usual, im impressed with all games i buy (I paid for them, so i have to be impressed hehe). There is ALOT of things to do in EVE, mining, trading, killing pirates.

Mining:
OMFG?! I cant believe ppl are paying $12.95 to sit at a fucking stone with your mining lasers on and just wait. There is ALOT of ppl doing this, since mining is the easiest way to make $$ in EVE. Fun? No. Worth $12.95? To the retards doing it, obviously. To sane ppl, fuck no!

Trading:
Trading was the way i choosed to make my $$. Its about buying some freightgoods at a station, and cargo it to another station and selling it at higher price.
When i started doing this, there was a map with zoom, that allowed you to view systems that had demand/supply easy. A week after they removed the zoom feature due to something, and left ppl trading with a map without zoom that required you to micromanage your mousecurser to use porperly. 2 weeks passed and a new patch arrived, fixing the zoom, and introduced a table instead, where you could view supply and demand. Only problem with table is, it displayed the wrong fucking stations, so you were litterely fucked as a trader if you started using that, before you knew it was fucked... Was a good moneypit :).

Killing pirates:
Like killing mobs in DAoC. Then of course, they had to nerf Guns overall in EVE. So if you logged in after patch, started to gun down pirates you were raping the day before, you would loose your ship. Since the guns sucked, you couldnt kill descent pirates that gave a descent amount of cash = mining was more profitable.

Player pirating:
Since you can attack anyone anywhere in EVE, there is bound to be some PvP and griefing. Now there are systems where ppl cant attack other ppl without getting wtfpwned by NPC police. But there are also some areas (compare it to frontiers) where you can grief and PK all you like. There was a corporation (Guild) named m0o corp who did this all the time. Developers response to this is not to develop PvP, but to take the whole fucking corporation and move them across the starmap. This is how the developers handle ppl playing their game the hardcore pirate style, by interacting with full scale GameMaster powers, give them a fucking applause for failure!
And basicly, player pirating, consists of you + friends, sits at a jumpgate and ask for passage fee or just blow newbs out of the sky when they try to use it. Noone dares to oppose you if they cant seriously outnumber you, and you will run if they do, cuz dying in EVE means you loose your ship that has cost you hours and hours of booring mining. And when your ship is destroyed, you end up in a little pod in space, and if they blow that one up too, you start loosing skills you spend days training up. Oh you can pay for inssurance, but inssurance = Whatever your ship and equip is worth in $$ a week... YES! Let me pull out 4 mill a week, instead of having 16 mill on my bank account if i die... GOOD PLAN!
So bottomline is, noone fights in EVE, the only way to go is to outnumber ppl and make them run, or grief newbies.

You think traveltime in DAoC sucks?! Well DAoC is the goddamn Concord compared to EVE. Then you have this nifty thing called autopilot, set a destination, and it take you there. WRONG! If your destination is 20 jumpgates away, you WILL be stuck at almost every 3rd jumpgate, due to autopilot not jumping cuz of lag, or some other shit i dont know. So litteraly, you cant just go afk the 30 mins a 20 jump trip takes, you have to sit there, and watch your pathetic little ship.

The coding.
Theese guys who made this game, have some kind of belief, that the more you put on serverside, the better the game is, or the harder it is to hack. I can undestand the hacking, but please.
Almost every fucking thing in EVE is serverside. Even your solarsystem bookmarks and buddylist is saved on the server, and not in YOUR client. I know that its a silly small issue, but EVER SINGLE TIME! you load up SOMETHING, it has to load from the server = whatever you do, it has latency.

The servers and connection.
Either their servercluster is discount crap machines, or their developers are using their connection to download porn all the time, cuz i have NEVER EVER seen a MMORPG run with this much lag. If you play primetime, there are 5k ppl in the server, it lags all the time, ALL THE TIME, anything you do has 2-20 seconds delay. APPLAUS!

Ther patches:
Every single time they release a patch, somehow somewhere, they bug something that was working fine. And noooo you dont get any emergency patching, you have to wait for the next patch to see if they fix it.

Thats about it... Hope you dont feel like playing it now.

LMAO great post man. We had some of the same thoughts on the game. I swept the alliance access about two weeks ago and you should have access back now. So what's next Em? Did you here Blizzards dev team broke up also...bye bye WoW.
