A valid email address is needed so the forums can notify you when you receive a private message (if you have it set to notify you), when you are added to a usergroup, or if you watch a topic.
Currently, if you have an invalid email account, the email will be rejected, and end up in my email box.
If you insist on not updating your email address, please turn off any notification options in your profile, so that emails are not generated.
