Which to buy? Who's going to win the next round of Console Wars?

Xbox cause I hate sony.

And as an FYI... I think this is the first time I will not be buying a new console... they are coming out faster and faster and the games are getting crappier and crappier...

I can count the # of games that were worth a purchase in the last few years for console.

1. Halo 2
2. Zelda:Windwaker
3. GTA:San Andres

Now those are what I would consider buying... what I actually put my money into...

Halo 2 and Fable. I own GC, PS2, and Xbox. I would put Fable as a bargain rental at best. Console games are seriously becoming rental only except if you are a hardcore Halo player :/

Now what I got for PC... WoW, GW, Halo 2, SimCity 4 Deluxe, and CoD:UO.

PC is the BEST gaming platform IMO. I honestly believe I will be selling my consoles within the next year and never looking back.

May hold onto the Gamecube for the simple fact of Zelda.

PC has usually the best bargain buys in the gaming market. Games like Sim City 4 and Call of Duty : UO are 19.99 and offer endless fun IMO.

Not to mention the value of a good MMO.

I have a easy way out on the next one that I buy, I just let the kids point me in the direction of what they want. Then they get to claim it while I play on it.

XBox360 is coming out this year. Sony has given us absolutely no information about their next gen console. Could be more than a year before we see it.

I buy all the consoles, Mod them for Burnable's and DL every game I need hehe... It fun to get drunk with friends pop in a console game and have crazy fun.

We played a drinking game in madden one time, in 1h of playtime i think we did a 12pack each. We crawled away from that game... I won't play it to this day hehe...

The graphics for that were AWESOME in the clip I saw on the MTV preview.

Sony announced PS3 for Spring of 2006 yesterday.

Heartless: Don't you think that consoles do have their place? We have a PS2, and the kids also have their own PC. Some games seem to play better on PC, and others much better on a console in front of the big TV.

Madden on a PC is really a solitary experience. You aren't going to do 2 player with a friend over on the PC. Or at least not as well. And even single player games like Tony Hawk 3 don't play as good on the PC. I screwed up and ordered that one for the PC rather than the PS2. I went and got a PS gamepad clone for the PC, but my kid still doesn't like it as much on the PC as on the big TV. Plus, when he has friends over, it doesn't work to all sit around a PC as sit around a big screen TV. For those reasons it seems consoles will always have their place.

And with the whole console online game market starting to mature, it seems the major advantage PC's had for a long time are fading.

On the other side of the coin, I can't imagine playing a shooter and not using a mouse. We play Halo1 on the PC online, and are playing against consolers, and I think the mouse is a major advantage.

lol 2006. Im stil debating on what console i should go for. Just upgraded my old wanky computer to a living SLI monster so a console would be a welcommed change of pace and gameplay.

p.s heartless, for your game list, could you please add Gran Tourismo 4?

i'm going for both, but i'm looking forward to the PS3. Sony has had alot of good games ever since they first made the PS1. Only game I can think of thats worth buying for the Xbox is Halo 1 & 2.

Forgot the throw in Madden series as worth buying and actual own...

But that is my die hard Packer fan side. Without my brothers around I get jollies off racking up 100-0 scores on the roomate... who in turns invites his Halo friends over to wipe the floor with my ass.

Good at madden on Xbox... horrible at Halo. Put my on PC and I rock FPS
