Wrong Email Address

So I got an email today, I thought it was junk mail, so I didn't really look at it. I've actually gotten emails from the address before, and not really thought twice about it, and just deleted it. I opened this one.

Basically, it was some guy named Joe asking for some technical help. He had enough wrong details in the email that I was pretty sure it was a fake.

Goofing around at work, I sent this back (he mentions Marilyn in his email to me).

"Marilyn and I have decided to split up. She has decided to become a man,
and has joined the circus.

As for me and technology, I've renounced it all, and will become Amish at
the end of the month.

So say goodbye to all the people in my past life, as I am no longer Rob, I will now be known as Jebodiah Springfield from here on in.

Jebodiah."

I figured the guy would clue in, but apparently not, just got this email from him now:

"Jebodiah

If your message wasn't so straight forward I'd want to believe it was a
joke. If it is true, I am extremely sorry to hear about your and Marilyn,
but mostly I am sad to hear about your personal choice. I know the Amish are
wonderful people, and live a clean and uncluttered lifestyle (sometimes I am
envious) however the first and formost thing that you need to make sure of
is that they believe in Jesus Christ, and being Born Again. Born Again
simply means knowing and accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, and
having a personal relationship with Him.

Rob, your Mom and I are both Born Again, and it has made a significant
difference in our lives. We attend a church that is a Bible teaching church,
that lives by the Word, not by pomp and circumstance, or rituals. PLEASE
carefully look at your decision and make sure it is the CORRECT choice. I
don't know enough about the Amish to say anything intelligent. I do believe
though, they wouldn't want you to forget everyone you have known in your
life, particularly family, They do have acquaintances outside their group.

Whatever your choice, we will respect that. You can believe you will be in
our prayers all the time. We both love you very much.

Joe"

I'm pretty sure he is serious...

lol what was the first email that you replied to?

You should post his email and we can all email him pretending to be Amish missionaries trying to convert them. lol

Here's his first email :)

"Hello there.

Hope you and Marilyn are doing fine. We are doing okay down south, but the
weather is kinda screwy. One day we're in short sleeves, and the next in our
flannels. Unfortunately, no rain, oh well we got 1/4 inch last week. Better
then nothing, I suspect.

I need some advice on my computer. When I try to download some things, like
Macromedia Player, the gold line at the top of the screen comes on
indicating the need to approve downloading 'active x controls'. I click
okay, but then the download doesn't occur. I have tried this with more then
one download, and it does the same for all of them. It's driving me nuts (or
I should say, nuttier).

Snapfish is another program I tried to download, and that didn't work, so I
contacted their Tech Support. The first thing they advised was to shut off
my Spam Blocker. I did that, as well as shutting off my Pop Up Blocker, and
it still didn't work. I told the guy that if I had to shut off my Anti
Virus, or my Firewall I didn't need their program. To be honest with you, I
did shutoff my Zone Alarm for a few seconds and tried it again. Guess what,
it didn't work. It was a little scary, and I wont do it again!

I have scanned my computer for viruses, and did a system scan, and
everything checked okay. I don't know what else to do.

I'm looking for any suggestions, PLEASE. Just about any evening is fine. If
you would like to call me during the day, call my cell phone at 520
XXX-XXXX

See ya.

Joe"

I also thought about writting back, and linking him to several porn sites, but I'm at work, and couldn't find any that had innocuous names.

I would post his email, but the poor old guy seems a bit gullable, wouldn't want him to disown my poor namesake.
