So the past 12 months, I have been working on a very large program that launches today on a single handset, 8 by April, and all of Alltel's lineup by the end of the year. 6 companies, 92 people, and lots of hard work has gone into making this a reality. The mobile software space is extremely difficult to manage and build for.
frog and Alltel are very excited about the future of this application in the mobile space. We are continuing to expand the platform, allow developers around the world to build cells (mini applications) for it, and build it into a Windows Mobile application and new features across all platforms for all of Alltel's handset lineup (currently 25 phones).
Here are some reviews, a video of it, and the main site for it:

Cool D,
Take a look at http://www.dodgeball.com/
As RIM develops more consumer targetted products and services along with IPhone I think we are on the edge of a new wave of wireless applications.
Not applications that give you stock quotes or weather but much more. The key to expanding wireless (IMHO) is GPS integration. That way I can know what is going on around me. i.e. "shooting 4 blocks from you at xyz/yyz intersection" ... "<famous> was spotted 3 blocks from you at .... interection" ... "your friend Bob is at Dunbar Bar" ... "The <event> is going on downtown at <location>".
Dodgeball is the closest idea to a concept we came up with except of course we have another zillion ideas of how to not only market this but make it more of a demand consumer solution.

Today was a very exciting day for Alltel Wireless and frog design. Celltop was announced to the world.
The culmination of the two teams with partners Motricity and Qualcomm, as well as integral OEM's such as Samsung, Motorola, and LG, have launched a BREW application built on numerous Qualcomm platforms to give Alltel customers a simple quick reach approach on their handsets to the things they need and do on a daily basis.
frog has built this platform from conception to delivery, including the name and logo. This program has demonstrated our process to near perfection with our Aricent partners.
A site dedicated to support Celltop from Alltel that launched today is located at www.mycelltop.com for your viewing pleasure.
We announced the work on our site at: http://www.frogdesign.com/?p=351
The official press release is located on the Alltel Web site at: http://alltel.com/corporate/media/news/ ... 1807a.html
Other links to demo videos, reviews and comments can be found from our corporate Web site, as noted above.

We are already working with Alltel to launch this on numerous handsets in 2007 across all their OEM's, opening the platform to developers to build cells for Celltop, evaluating new platforms for Celltop such as Windows Mobile, and working on the next newest version for Celltop v1.1.
Even more exciting additional programs are on the way, so look soon for our next software program launch with Alltel next month!
This will be an exciting year for Alltel and frog design. Thanks again to everyone for all the hard work and dedication across all of our programs with this wireless client.

D,
If you are looking for some user feedback, go to www.phonescoop.com (probably the industry's best tattler) or RCR Wireless news.
I've seen some "exerpts" about it internally @ VZ.
