Source: UFC buys Pride for less than $70M

NEW YORK -- The majority owners of Ultimate Fighting Championship have agreed to buy their biggest mixed martial arts rival, Pride Fighting Championships, in a deal that will establish megafights among the outfits' titleholders and possibly attract huge pay-per-view audiences.

Interesting ... I think they over payed though

There was a lot of talk on MMA forums the past few months about PRIDE going under as well as rumours of UFC making a deal with them.

I would rather have seen them simply pay the top guys more $ that alone would drive more fighters from PRIDE to UFC. Oh well.
