well, for the tamer side of the group, here is what I sent out yesterday to the jax email group about our trip. it was 3 couples from jacksonville that headed over, me (jason) and saphyre/julie, dave/mosthula and jen/nikolaos and rich/hyla and christy(his wife). The only one of the bunch interested in the club hoping was dave, and he was too addicted to the poker tables. The coyote ugly bar sounds like it would have been fun though
Anywhere, here is the email I sent out:
It was fun. We didn't do the club hopping and mass drinking that D and the rest did.
When we get to the hotel, it was probaly around 12:30 or 1am their time. We get up and the guy takes our info then goes into the back for like 5 or 10 minutes. He comes out and says that they oversold, and don't have a room for us, so they are putting us up in the monte carlo. Nice hotel, nothing special about it though. So I'm ticked, and said get the manager. He says they would give us each 50$ hotel credit for the stores and eating, and that first night was free. The manager comes out and the guy next to me lights into her, cussing up a storm and yelling. He ends up storming out, and the manager tells his wife that she would give 100$ each if they decide to stay. We were all tired so I told the guy give me her deal and I'll go. So, on to the monte carlo for that night, at the counter I tell the guy to charge the paris the most expensive room they can. Rich ends up asking for a room next to us, and she says all they have are suites near me, so we all end up in suites for the night
BIIIIIG hot tub in each room next to a window overlooking the strip, full bar, bose speakers everywhere for CD player and dvd player and tv. Had a couch and 2 chairs, was REAL nice.
Of course the airlines stole my prescription from my luggage, so here it is 2:30am and we go to a walgreens to get it filled, and our first meal in vegas??? McDonalds, ehhe, it was next door and only thing open really. Back to the hotel, and ya just gotta take a bath in the tub with all the jets on. They had this bubble bath stuff, so we put it in, and it foams up to like 6 or 8 inches above the top. We find out the next day all 3 couples did the same thing. I have a picture I'll put up of julie in the tub, with just her head sticking out of the suds.
Next day we head out walking, and we look around the paris some, head down to the veneitian and back, hitting the hotels along the way. We meet up with D at the casino in the paris, we were his good luck charm, he started hitting some good hands at the blackjack table. We go to an overpriced dinner at ballys steakhouse, but they all enjoyed it. We got yelled at for being too loud and cussing. D bought a group picture of us all so that should get posted soon. Then we head over to the luxor to watch the blue man group. Christy has a blue man group fetish now btw. Everyone loves the show, it really is great. We leave and walk over to the MGM grand to look around, then back to the paris we go, play some slots and then head to bed around 2 or 3am.
Friday julie goes off with her mom shopping, rich and christy head to lake mead/hoover dam, and me dave and jen go to the luxor for texas holdem tourney. We get there 1.5 hours early, but it is already booked solid. So we wander over to the Mandalay bay, one of the 4 top end hotels, but nothing too it really, I still like the paris alot. We head back to the paris, meet up with rich and christy and then head over to the flamingo and dave and jen play some poker. Christy and jen are just lucky on the slots, they win lots on that. Me and rich play blackjack for a while, I did well but he lost some, thent hey switched dealers and poof goes are cash. Me rich and christy head back to the paris to relax before dinner. We meet up later and head to the excalibur to a nice italian resturant for dinner with julies mom, dad, uncle and his friend. Good food, had fun, and then off we go to teh flamingo again to see the amazing johnathan with D and group. JULIE FINALLY WON SOMETHING!!!! So now I'm only down 300 instead of 350 from her slot addiction
AJ was funny, we end up on camera at one point. Pinkerton and Killets are asian, and they had this camera panning the crowd and they would type in messages. They zoom in on pink/killets and start flashing GODIZILLA RUN!!! Funny show. Afterwards Dave and Jen go play more poker, The rest of us head back slowly, playing some stuff along the way. Earliest night for me, right at 2am me and rich go up, christy and julie play slots for a bit more. Addicts.
Saturday...uhhh what went on saturday...Oh, we go to the flamingo again for a brunch thing so the ladies can get breakfast food and us lunch food. Dave jumps on the poker table, and we head back through belagio and ceasars, watch the fountain show at belagio. Both of those hotels are awesome, both are among the 4 best. Ceasars blew me away this time which i don't remember it doing last time. It probaly the coolest to stay at, but I still think paris is up there. Rich and christy head to catch a flight and see the grand canyon, jen goes back to meet dave at the poker tables, and me and julie walk around the alladin hotel. It was crappy, and it wsa the newest hotel. It's only 3 years old and it already sold because it wasn't doing well, it will be hte planet hollywood hotel soon. Dave, me julie and jen head to the paris buffet with D and killets and sven. Killets has a vip card for the paris from his mom, so we skip ahead of the hour long line, right up front, and go straight in. That was so cool. Last time we saw them
After dinner we head to the venetian for a gondola ride with a guy singing italian love songs to us. We watch the mirage volcano show, then we go to the old strip downtown. It is covered with this light display thing, was really pretty neat. The casino's there are a lot uglier, real low ceilings so smoke was bad. But slots pay off better, and they had lower min tables. Me rich and julie end up on teh craps table. That was a lot of fun, julie kept throwing the dice off the table, she even lost one they couldn't find. But she was lady luck that night, had a real good streak. We switch tables and jen and dave join us, rich and christy head back to the paris. We play for a bit more, and I end up a bit ahead, and we had played for a long time so that was cool. Back to the paris we go. We run into rich and christy playing some slots, we all head back up around 3am or so.
Sunday we meet up with julies parents, have some breakfast, and head home
Things we didn't get to do...Didn't hit the new york new york at all, they have a rollercoaster I had been on before and jen wanted to ride. We also didn't hit the stratosphere which had a rollercoaster ride. Didn't see any other shows and we might have wanted to. Dave never got to play in a tournament. But we all had fun. We left and everyone wanted to come back again. I can see us either going back there, or heading to beluxi (however it is spelled) soon. Or heck even the la cruise casino trips from here. Or maybe just all take a 5 day cruise later this year.
Everyone but us came out close to even on the trip from gambling. I was probaly down 200, mostly from julie on the slots and I lost 50 on blackjack from the luckiest dealer ever. 7 hands in a row of 20 or 21.
