Any suggestions?...

Last night i was in DF on Budha, had been buying salvage at the merchants.

Got attacked by 3 Albs, clearly not 50s cause they hit for crap, biggest single damage i took was 60...

Anyhow, i go to enter combat mode, shield slam to start with...

I go into combat mode and just stand there, style doesnt go off, no regular hit, nothing.

I'm able to Bolt and AE howl at them every cycle, but every time i try to style it tells me my combat styles have already been chosen for this round.

3 albs beating me down and about 5 mins later first alb is almost dead from spell damage i died, not striking a single time the entire combat.

I appealerd it and the CSR told me it was either:

1. I was lagged... which since i could bolt them and have a cable conn i highly doubt was the cause. Or...

2. i lagged during casting my bolt and my char froze. He told me it happens and when it does the char is unable to do anything more until they zone again. But again since i cast my bolts the entire combat i find this hard to believe.

Now, this isnt the first time ive not been able to combat near the merchants in DF, but usually im dead a few seconds later so i dont get to sit in frustration for 5 mins, but this time i did and cannot for the life of me fathom what was going wrong.

The CSR told me he can't check anything about, nor can he suggest any other reasons why it might have happened... so im wondering if anyone here can shed any light on it?

Damned annoying to stand there for 5 minutes and not be able to do anything :/

and even worse for them not to be able to tell me why
