Loot rules for my raids

Postby Sirion » Wed Jan 12, 2005 1:19 am

Okay then, I know you guys are hitting cap, and I'm looking forward to raiding with you guys until PvP rewards come out and we can finally get some shit from PvP rather than PvE. That said, currently, PvE instance raiding is an evil that must be tolerated to well equip our high level characters for when the real PvP finally makes it's appearance.

I've run several raids into UBRS (I have the key for ubrs, so we can raid there whenever we want) and Strath (noone has showed interest in Scholo yet, so I haven't screwed around with it, although I do have the key for it, and am up for it), the dungeons, while fairly challenging, won't be much of an issue with the amount of people we will have. Currently my raid partys primarily consist of my guildmates in Resonance, and a friend's guildmates in Obliteration. Now then, I welcome you guys to join us (level permitting of course), however the loot rules are a bit different than we did them in DAoC. The rules are designed so that the people that show repeated participation are rewared for it, and the people that show up every now and then, but somehow manage to roll nine million every time, are not.

Every raid is worth 5 points. You must stay for the majority of the raid to earn those 5 points. The points will be awarded at the beginning of a raid, but will be removed if the person leaves too early. If the person wins an item and still leaves too early, they will not get the points for their next raid. The amount of time one is required to stay in a raid to recieve points will be discussed in game by myself and the representatives of the two guilds I raid with (Zzirh for Obliteration, Hall and D of BWC).

Non BoP FFA loot will be collected by myself and distributed at the end of the raid. I will list all the pieces of ffa loot, and everyone will /random 100. Due to the fact that most of these raids may be large, and there is no guarentee that everyone will get something, the people who did win something will be noted, and will be asked to refrain from bidding on ffa loot until everyone else has won something.

BoP FFA items will be bid upon by players that have been dying the most (usually priests, shamans, and to a lesser extent mages and warlocks when in an instance that AE is a requirement such as Stratholme). This is to help alleviate their costs, without forcing them to repair off of the money they made with their normal FFA item.

Non FFA BoP items will be bid on by players that can equip the item (and will use it of course). The min bid on all non-ffa items will be 5 points. The bid incriment will also be 5 points. If two people tie (at 25 points each for example) they will /random 100 for the item. A person is limited to one Non FFA BoP item per raid (examples are boss items). There are certain times in which players will be able to win more than one BoP item, such as leather drops with only one Rogue attending the raid; however, that Rogue will still spend 5 points on the first drop. The rest of them will be free, and I will check to make sure they are being put to use. Epic drops may also be an exception, but I will have to speak to the representative from each guild as far as they are concerned. They are rare enough that even if someone has won loot, they deserve a shot at it, but at the same time, it's not really fair if they win two things, and someone else wins nothing. If you say you need a BoP/epic item, and do not use it, don't expect to be welcome to many following raids. If I see an Epic in the AH that dropped on one of my raids, that was not FFA, don't expect to ever attend another of my raids.

Non FFA BoE items will be distributed as requested. I will inspect the character that requested the BoE item to make sure that it is indeed being equipped and used. This will count as this person's FFA bid. It will NOT count towards their Non-FFA BoP item bid. Again, if you say you need an item, but don't use it, or I see it in the AH the next morning, don't expect to be welcome to many subsequent raids (this has happened on my raids before, which is the only reason I'm even mentioning it in the first place).

5-man groups of mine do not count towards raid points. If you see me in Strath in a 5man group with people we frequently raid with, don't be concerned, they aren't getting bonus points for it. Also note, I don't have to be there for a raid to go on. If D, Hall, Zz, or Zera want to run a raid, they can, and points will still be distributed, I will just need ingame mail from at least one person from each guild telling me who was there, who left early, who won what, and how many points were spent by each person. If I don't get this mail from at least two of the three guilds, I can't count the raid towards our tri-guild's raiding points. It's okay to raid with just your guild, I'm sure all three guilds will do it as their memebers start capping, just know that there won't be any points awarded for it. Now then, this system will probably not last for a long time, as our guilds really have enough players each to successfully complete all the dungeons currently implemented, but until the time that everyone wants to do "guild only" raids, I feel this is the best way to distribute loot. The people that show up every day for every raid, shouldn't have to walk away empty handed all the time simply because 4-5 different people come once a week each and roll very high.

Tomorrow I'm doing an UBRS raid, everyone 56 and higher is welcome to join. The raid rules will be explained when we start (hopefully around 3:30-4:00 PM est), I just wanted to make sure I got the loot rules out of the way here, since I have the means to speak to many of you at once. I'm assuming Zzirh has/is/will explain to his guildmates how the loot system works, and there shouldn't be any confusion going into the raid. I have emailed Zzirh, D, and Hall a list with everyone that has attended raids thusfar, and how many points they have currently accumulated. If you need to know how many points you have yourself, you can either ask your guild rep. or myself in-game. Every raid the point totals will be updated and new sheets will be sent to those three people, I will keep a list as well myself. Hopefully I'll see some of you guys tomorrow ><

That sounds like a large pain in the ass.

Better you than me.

Can we just pass on everything when we are eventually high enough level to attend?

Points system. Old school but I never loved it.

As a note, servers will be down tomorrow for 16 hours starting at 4am... that cuts well into your designated time.

Also 3:30 - 4 est? I'd love to go but thursdays at 3 in the afternoon here (central) I'll still be at work for a good hour or so... hope you guys plan on running raids a bit later.

Edit - Actually just looked at their posting on this and apparently not all servers will see a 16 hour down time. There's a big list but I didn't see Bleeding Hollow on it. So I guess the server should be back up after only 4 hours.

I meant for it to be today, wasn't paying attention when I posted the topic ;o I also might back it up to 5 or 6 to let a few more people that might want to come get home from work.

Umm, if it's today at 5 or 6 est, I'll be there... actually I get off at about 4:45 or 4:30 depending on how much I loathe being at work that day. So I can be on by 6 est / 5 cen.

Did our raid into Strath the other day count towards our points?! :)

Edit: For horrible horrible spelling.
