What about triple or quad hits, I though it was based on H2H skill, can you still get them with the 2H. I was interested in H2H but it seemed a lot of work to buff yourself and then do all kinds of posiitional. Better to buff and hit with a big sword.

Is 2H still good damage compared to the H2H

Triple and quad hits are pretty rare, certainly so rare, you wouldn't want to count on them. Don't remember off hand, but something like ~2% for a quad, and ~5% for a triple.

You do get the multi-target chains which are nice if you can get them off against a tank train, but you need to parry/block to start them, and if a tank train is on you as a savage, you're kinda in trouble.

I've got a Troll savage, and have been both specs, and love 2H, but a H2H savage has more of a finesse style. 2H savage is more for bashing the shit out of everything. I've played him mostly in PvE though.

I redid my response (above) - it is more informative now but to iterate since germane to last the two posts and because on new page so people might miss it:

This is going one-year memory, after playing many games but I am certain about the end (~1.60) because I did so many tests at mile gates and I am pretty certain about each individual percentage. (This is what others found and I found these results by many tests of beating on a Pendragon mile gates for 1000+ times each set) A RR5, a 50 H2H savage, over time, will land singles ~60%, doubles ~24%, triples ~13% and quads ~3%. That is on average, 1.60 swings per round, which is far less than other dual wielding classes. Yes you can find screen shots of quad hits, with multiple critical hits, for a total of 1300 damage, all across the web and if you look close you can see the target, unclothed sitting, receiving that damage too : ), illustrating the point about the rarity.

Again, H2H does very good damage and is fun to do and the rare high damage shots, makes it exciting (like winning a /random) but a two handed troll savage, swinging a 5.5 delay weapon at 1.5 seconds (will need Healer's celerity for this, without TOA haste items, you will be around 2.25, with no healer), is doing tremendous damage consistently.

Another point: My tests and experience are based on the slowest H2H items being 4.4 delay (TOA rare drop ones), if Catacombs is supplying slower ones, H2H might be on par with two handed damage and if much slower, surpass it.

Assuming no materially slower H2H weapons (slower than 4.4 delay), my recommendation, based on my numerous tests and playing a savage to RR7.1, and then doing another one on Mordred, only about RR4 but did get 50, if you want maximum damage:

Put 20 points in strength (get 15) and 10 in quickness (get 10) on a troll savage.

Question: does Catacombs have slower than 4.4 delay 100% quality H2H weapons?
