I might get a shaman account now.

I know I will need two catacombs CD keys, but is there a way to run two games, in different modes (windowed and non-windowed) and different resolutions (one 1600 other 800), from same installation? Or will I have to do two installations to do this.

I ran two games, on same PC before, but to do 1280 on one and 800 on other, I used two installs. I think each install uses one initializing script and therefore, if you run two games from same install you must play both, in the same modes - same initialization script.

Anyone know if you can run two games, in different modes, from one installation?

Thanks.

You can run two accounts on the same PC.

But honestly, if you need to move both, its a freaking pain in the ass.

/stick rarely works, bot lags off, etc.

Its fine for logging in a bot and having him sway in the wind somewhere, but would be a pain w/ the bot having to be grouped and within 5000 units unless your camping somewhere.

No, I was not asking about generally running two accounts, on the same PC, I was wondering about different modes on the same installation.

For example, I ran two before but different installations; I ran one at 1280 resolution and full window and the other at 800 resolution and windowed but each was from a different installation (example: one ran from C:\DAOC1 and the other from C:\DAOC2.) I think each installation has one script initialization file so both must be run the same, if run from the same installation. So, I am wondering if I can not do one installation, versus two as I did before, yet still run in two different modes.

On running two and /sticking etc. I did that on a much lesser machine than I have now, with no problem and had no problem.

The trick is keeping your operating system from giving much more resources to the client being played, versus the one in the background. You do this by going to Task Manager (ctrl-alt-delete) and under Process tab, finding the two game.dll files and right clicking each and setting priority to "low" (yes - "low".) This will force the operating system to give fairly equal resources to each, when one is being played and the other is in the background. On the "normal" setting which is default, the foreground client (one being played) will get almost all system resources, stripping the background client of resources, making it lag and not stick.

Now doing this will decrease the main client performance a little (it was not bad at all and I could hardly notice.)

You could try modifying the initialization script after opening the first client.

Could even create a .bat to switch it back and forth between two scripts.

They might think you're radaring though and ban you :)
