Adv Medic. READ THIS OR I KEEL YOU

Postby Candide » Mon May 12, 2003 12:33 pm

Ok, I hear this clamoring for adv medic, so being a guy more than willing to play a support role for the greater good, I go that route. It is the single most frustrating aspect of any game I've played in a long while. So, going to review a few things.

1. When I am on I will be near you, even if not in your squad. I will form my own with left over outfit members. If I am on I will let you know, and repeat the fact I am a Medic.
2. When I am on, memorize my squad number. If you see me near you and you are hurt, come to me AND STAND STILL. I will heal you. I can not heal you if you are moving, I can not heal you if I am moving.
3. DO NOT RELEASE WITH OUT CHECKING WITH ME. If you die and I am in the area, hold on, I will ress you. Now if you are obviously in a bad place, release. Or if you don't see me near by, release. You can still type on the lines as long as you do not click the "click here to choose respawn location" or whatever it says. If I die and was near a group, I will let you know before releasing.

Most of this is just because we are so used to quickly releasing. But we gotta give me a chance to revive. If I play after release, I will eventually plan on getting engi too, so that I can repair armor as well.

Being an adv med is very tough. It requires the FULL cooperation of the squad members. If people are releasing then you are wasted. I must admit that when used correctly, adv meds can increase the effectiveness of a normal squad to a great degree. Just remember Candide everyone is used to releasing the moment they die... so try not to get to frustrated if people forget to wait for you in the beginning. Just politely remind them that you could have revived. Good luck candide, I'm curious to see if you like being an Adv Med.

Yeah yeah, I know, gotta retrain everyone :) I'm not too mad really, I understood it would take a while. The voicecomm software will help a TON so we can see how that goes.

If it helps the team out I'll have fun doing it. I don't mind going support at all. In fact I plan on getting basic engineer next so I can heal armor as well, then reinforced armor so I can carry my cycler both engy healing items and my medic healing item.

Heck, I played a bard on Palo and had fun, so that should tell ya I don't have to be the one doing the killing, as long as my group is :)
