i'm a pilot.. i think a pretty damn good one =).. the pilot system is sort of liek the tribes2 one.. and i still only know myself to be the one guy which can do loop-de-loops in a havoc (big tranportship in t2 which aren't built for loops)
so my spec will be(sniper rig)
2-Medium armor
3-Sniper
4-Reaver(3- if mosquto)

this is a nice Hacker rig
2-AMS (a stealthing respawn base)
2-Inf
3-Hacker
2-Adv Hacker
now from this point you can either tech engeer/combat for mines and turrets or tech MAX. so you can claim and camp solo and hold fort til squad arrives.

i have noticed that squads don't need a major xport ship.. the galaxy and such, maybe we can have 2 players with that cert.. i have noticed the Sundar to be a nice figthing force for a ground transport.
and if everyone has atleast harrasser cert(it holds 1 driver and 1 gunner) that will be more then enough to move a squad around rapidly.
this is the order i will train in.

In my limited experience snipers are great to have around, and needed as the enemy certainly has them as well. I don't think there are solo vs group certs, some have different roles, and you can have too many pilots perhaps, but never too many fighters (unless it is such that you don't have any support, like hacking/engineering).
And it isn't like daoc, where you take sniping and now you can't do something else. You can have tank skills and sniping skills. Roll around in your tank and then hop out and snipe some folks.
Venderic, Candide or Mercutio in games.
