New DAoC Server!

it's almost interesting to think about what classes will be made viable with a server like this. Take Hunters for instance with BC and their pets, without buffed assassins to fight against, I bet hunters and rangers are the king of the stealthers on this server.

I believe all computers will crash with the upcoming 2k0 bug. Jesus and the Anti-Christ will battle for the heavy weight title on the lake of fire and the current square wheel will be struck down by a new and improved round blueprint.

All joking aside good for Mythic. A nice step in the direction when the game was playable. It's as cute as the new UO pre-trammel rule servers.

I think Warlocks on Mid wll be the ultimate PL toon's. Spec 50 Hex/20 Witch. you get 325 delve PBAE, and a lvl 20 POM. That way you wont miss FoP. I might rool one and try it as a main for a while.

I was leaning more towards Hib myself. I think a melee ranger with high PF could be alot of fun. A friar is also loads of fun...my 48 friar on Mordred was easy to level and hit like a ton of bricks. Let's decide once and for all what realm we want to play so we can start choosing our classes

It still has frontiers, and ultimately it was frontiers that dealt the final blow in DAOC. So I am not sure about this.

I would be willing to roll support on any server/realm you all decided to play on. Just playing with my friends again would make this worth while for me.

I am really thinking of playing on new server. I would go for high damage tank, or pbaoe. Just one thing, I had 5 50s on albion and I want a change. Hib or mid is fine by me. Plus many alb classes are gimped compared to hib or mid.

I cant stand waiting in line for PVP, I just can`t accept that. I don`t have 45min to waste so I can enter AV. This is suppose to be a server with high population and only 1 AV is opened up most of the time.

Let me know, I am very interested in this, lets discuss group set ups what class we need etc, I can level pretty fast, got a father who is retired who loves to level up characters.

From the beginning we should know who will be what crafter so we can get cash together and level them up. Without TOA, crafted stuff will probably be good. ( I dont know about that new expansion, items, etc)

I did not play frontiers or that new dungeon, anything I should know, when I left RVR groups were, healer, mezer, tanks.

WOW showed greaty promised, I though pvp would be better, its seems its all about onixia, mc, farming, I want to kill people, use tactics, etc.

Only catch with warlocks is their REALLY slow cast time.

You'll be stuck either using the 5.3 second powerless cast, which can be reduced by dex, or the hard coded heal+PBAE which is locked at 4 seconds.

At 50, you'll have 2 chambers which will help, and can use the 2s uninteruptable cast, but 3 of those is basically a full bar of power.

With the 10 second chamber reload time, SM's still might be faster PLers.

In RvR though, Warlocks might be better for a bomb with the chambers, but for PLing, that slow cast time is going to hurt.

Meh, I have like 10 level 50 Mid toons, 2 level 50 Hib toons, and 1 level 50 Alb toon. Hib is going to be the fotm realm with Vampiirs and Bainshees, and I've played the hell out of Mid already... See, it's going to be Hibs with the huge population advantage, so I don't really want to be a Hib and never have anyone to fight, Mid's groups will need 4 healers (2 shamans for full buffs and 2 healers) and a skald, which really only leaves 3 slots open for DPS. Then Alb has the problem of needing a Pally, Minstrel, Sorc, and two Clerics, which only leaves 3 slots open for DPS... If there is a resounding cry to go play Mid, then I suppose I can level a Skald and deal with playing Mid again, as long as there are enough people to get consistant groups in PvE and PvP. I would rather play Alb or Hib however, and I'm actually leaning towards Alb (even though I totally hate the realm itself) because if we go Hib I have a feeling that we are going to be hardpressed to get away from the zerg ever.

Yeah, Frontiers dealt the "final blow" to DAoC, but a lot of people wouldn't have left for NF if ToA and artifact grinding and whatnot hadn't been required to RvR, making it so that you couldn't level a second toon to deal with NF. This time around we all know what NF is like, so we know what to expect, and can tailor groups accordingly.

I didn't mind Nf so much as I did the Rp Nerf for high RR players and the need to Seige shit. Overall I think Nf is great for grps with tower grazing and roaming. Emain was Good for RP farming, but when zerg was out it was game over for people who wanted to run 1FG. Now u can take a tower and at least farm a good bit before u get whiped by a zerg. I think it will be fun, and like sirion said well be the underdog's which is just fine IMO there are going to be more casual gamers on this server then any other server. Leveling artifacts/Ml's was a pain in the ass and made people's life 2x as long and fights 10x as long it seemed.

NF RVR was ok if you were a caster, I was a warrior and once we dropped the doors it was rediculous to play anything but a ranged class in the towers. Roaming was ok, not as good as OF but camping towers as a melee/tank was a huge bore for me.

You can upgrade to the Cata engine for free, but you can't access the Catacombs zones unless you get Cata.

Cata is gonna be big in this one for gear, but if you don't already have cata, that might be a good idea.
