After watching that site with the armors and weaponry, im already contemplating pre-orderning this ^^.

Lol, Law @ Accretia Warrrior with a big ass pimp axe going cambodian on some little gnome. Just like some Raiders fan going midevil on a NY Giant fan.

EBGAMES website claims you get in Beta on pre-order?

Watched some PVP movies and not sure what to think of it ... maybe I just don't like L2 engine or something.

You'll get into beta if you pre-order. Currently, to my understanding, only a close nit of community members and initial pre-orders are in beta, but more pre-order people will gain access to the beta during the next 2-3 weeks which to me seems limited. The game will get released in the end of febuary so its gonna be a rather short beta, lol.

I was close to pre-ordering and play the beta for 6 days, but when i noticed that you're in a pool of god knows how many people to gain entry within the next 2-3 weeks i dropped the idea due to the fact that tomorrow, febuary 1st, i will wearing army camo and saluting the drill sergeants while they yell to my face about my sloppy job at cleaning the latrins....

Actually, pre orders get to start beta 2 in the next day or 2. I played lineage 2 after burning out on DAOC and before WOW and actually liked it. RF online looks at least good enough to check out, especially since I've been MORPG absinent for a couple months now.

Let's get as many people into beta as we can, and report back under thread: RF ONLINE BETA, that I will post shortly, use it.

Thanks everyone, let's find that next game for us.

Maybe because only the people interested in buying it visit the forums?

Most people would rather not be bothered.

I was fucking off on the spirit server (01). I found that they recently added more options for character progression, at least the mage types anyway. Right now, Accretica are fairly boring with auto attacking and hitting one hotkey now and then. Sure at 30 you get another 'hotkey' to press but as it stands now, I don't think I will be picking up the retail version of this game.

Had a very small taste of PvP and its pretty lame. It's a game of whoever has the most healing/mana potions wins.

Same for now. The only thing that pisses me off is, even if you have 15 High Warlords, you're going to fall behind in gear. You have to play the DKP game.

Well I played a cora mage, and enjoyed it considerably more than Accretia. You can buy spells making the game more entertaining then spamming one attack button. If you are not into 'simple' then Cora is your race. Even a warrior can buy the spells, so a warrior/mage could be interesting.

Solo pvp can be slow, large scale pvp I see people go down quite fast. Its all about DPS, if you have group DPS you should win. All in all I have a more positive view of the game but am still fearful PvP will degenerate into full groups of lvl 50 fucktards doing laps around the mine with 5 bags filled with 99 stacks of the best heal pots available.

After playing a bit more in PVP, that is totally only the case for PUGs. groups with my friends have been shutting out traditional "homor farming" groups with like 4 rank 14s and shit. organization + skill matter more. if these guys got their shit together and played at just as high a level as us, I would probably bust a nut too. Just saying that having beaten a group like that before, I _KNOW_ it's not just a gear game.

sure it gets frustrating if you're running around, and some warrior with the high warlord sword comes up and starts 4 shotting you, but you dying is almost completely a function of your willingness to suck at their level such that the only difference between your shitty ass and their shitty ass is their gear.

in even fights, if you play your cards right, the warrior should be a non-factor a lot of the time. how good are you at locking down the warrior/rogues, while locking up their abilities to counter it. how fast and coordinated you can do an assist train on someone. do your groups have good druids? or do they mindlessly moonfire spam and throw heals randomly and are easily disabled?

if the other group is more skilled than you and has better gear, then obviously you're gonna die. but when you lose, the other team's gear is too easy a scapegoat. they probably got that gear through playing more than you anyways, so it wouldn't be all that surprising to just say that they're more experienced (even if your ego has to take the hit). the thing that really humbled me was really just playing with better players skill-wise and seeing that despite my hyper-inflated ego, i wasn't all that.

btw, a great example of this is recently on blackrock, a few of the recent rank 14s have been ebaying. these new rank 14s just have no skill. you can tell. even though they're doing the basic things right, they just suck situationally, and can easily be taken out.

(btw, my druid pvp's in a lot of blue gear, despite having about 8-9 epics). in general, the gear helps more with PvE than PvP imo. sure gear helps with pvp too, but having a competant team helps a lot more.

the AQ gear isn't really a whole lot better than the BWL/MC gear in general, so it's not like the rich are really getting richer. you can get a competant weapon using rep awards in PVP, so the pure DPS divide is smaller than you think.

The only thing I don't like about PVP right now, is I wish the rank awards weren't based on a weekly race, so that I can casually climb of the ladder faster. i know as a fact that i can make more honor per hour than a lot of the top ranked people in the game, simply because i play with a stronger group, but who am I to say that I deserve the ranks more than someone who plays 18 hours a day.

I honestly think that it's just more humbling playing in some of these WoW servers b/c the servers are like triple the size of the DAoC servers, and you're on average going to find people more hardcore than you'd ever seen in DAoC. And with action 24/7 on these servers (like on blackrock that has a huge aussie population), the people who play 18 hours a day can be productive for 18 hours, not like daoc where after primetime, your productivity (RP farming) goes waaaaaay down.
