While I can't be a participant till I get my new comp, what angle are we going for? Druth said some stuff about our own mods, which is cool. Also I believe he wanted to set his own server, dont remember if thats true or not. Are we just gonna putz around on our own MMORPG-style server/mod, or screw on someone else's (might be more fun to find a cool one and let its developers do all the hard work) Especially since I don't know what kinda following this game has here with us - I see as many ppl say "Well I like it, but I havent got it yet" as "yeah I actually have played and enjoy this game"... so where are we sitting right now

I will be purchasing the game sometime within the next few days. While It would be nice to be able to host a persistant (and constantly expanding) game off my own server, I've yet to acquire the funds to purchase one !
No, I will be creating a mod for the guild, but we're pretty much turning everyone loose to play with whom and on whose game hosts they please. Its just one of those games that the guild only gathers together for when its convenient time-wise.

So how the hell do I know where people are playing at if we aren't gonna have a preffered server? I thought the idea is to get us playing together as a guild? And kick other people's arses? wtf?

You're right ULO, that is the point! I've been working my rogue/wizard up to level 6, about the level at which I am starting to feel comfortable competing in online pvp. Right now we're still probing for a good, reliable, and persistant server/DM but if anyone wants to hook up for a small-party game in the meantime, then by all means lets!
And for those of you who don't have NWN, you can now thrash me in WC3, as I finally picked that up too.

I am on NWN as well. Playing a lvl 6 Parry, Augmentation Cleric specced in the War and Magic domains. I emailed Giantkiller to see if we can get an invite to the DW server. until then has anyone found a decent online server yet?

I made a list... I havent personally tried any of these yet, but I looked at he ones collected at various NWN news and content sites, and picked the best one. it was a personal list for searching for a server-home... but it will do for our purposes. no assurances on capacity though, I didnt check if it supports our whole guild.

This is why I hate player run servers:
(from the idle games one)
Well, the server program for NWN has a nasty bug, all Server-Vault characters are affected by this.
After about 30-35 logins, everyone coming on thereafter do not see their characters. If they try to make a new character, they get an 'Invalid Character' error.
In order to remedy this, the server is set to auto-restart it self every hour on the hour.
You will get ample warning before this happens, except in the few cases when the server crashes and the timer isn't synced anymore.
Who knows if they are trying to run it off their local cable or dsl line.

Aye, never winter nights may do alot for what you pay but it's still not a mmporpg. After hearing that there's bloodwinters playing daoc I'm gonna try goin back on that.
Hopefully TFH's pertend to be goodie scheme won't take too long to finish, at least for my sake. I think I'm the only person that would rather get my ass kicked all the time if it means bein able to pk. Seperates the men from the little kids with bigger guns and more peeps if you ask me

Well I have NWN and have a level 10 Barb (I loves 'em) so anytime you want to play just drop a line to me or something. I'm on Dial up so not sure how it is going to go...havn't tried it yet.
Well, this was anticlimactic

I just checked my email, and I found a message from a month ago (damn it, use messengers, people!) talking about an official move to NWN. So, whats goin on? Have we picked a server? Am I a month behind, and we've already decided not to?
I'm a level 7 wiz/3 fighter, if anyone cares.

and she's more than happy to reciprocate, like the shitty-wannabe-game loving slut that she is.
Seriously, NWN has become such a disappointment, because its multiplayer potential is wasted on FPS fuckers who cant realize this isnt doom 3. I like FPS, but I keep it separated from my RPGs, mkay.
Who the fuck else got up at 5:15 am for physical training for the army? FUCK YOU!
