I'm thinking of doing this.

Infilitration, hacking, and either medical/engineering.

Bulor, What about a sniper with this outfit? What certs do you have to spend to be a sniper with hacking duties? or is that stupid?

Hacking (3)- This certification will allow you to hack doors and take facilities and towers.
Infiltration Suit (5)- The armor that makes you a spy, this will allow you to sneak into places without being seen and give you a field advantage like no other.
Wraith (7)- Lets you get to bases quickly and unseen.
Advance Hacking (9)- Hack faster and hack terminals. Hacking terminals can and will save your life, do NOT overlook these.
Engineering (12)- No real use to you except as a pre-req., but maybe if you later decide to pick up some armor and weapon certifications it will come in handy.
Combat Engineering (14)- Gives you boomers, high explosive mines and a few other goodies which will be discussed later.
Then Add Medium Assault (16) Sniper (19), then still have 1 point left over for what else? or start with Medium Assault then Sniper, then add hacking?

Either way hacking + engineering sounds fun.

sniping and inf don't work =(

inf only has a 4 slot inventory + 1 handgun slot =(

snipers mostly stay to range combat(..open field is a snipers friend.) most of the time i find myself making a solo trip around/side/behind a eenmy AMS station/tower to set up my snipe camp.

as a inf i play on Vs emerald, i find myself to be very much close guarters.. only leaving the base to hack a enemy AMs station which was reported on location. and swingin my handgun/blade when soemone seems to be swicthing up invetory or trying to rehack a base. (inf have no armor,, can die in 2-3 hits with normal weapon, (1 snipe)

So what you are saying is inf/hacker sucks ass?

Whats a good full 20 spec for a sniper?

Your armor determines your weapon and inventory, and the inf. suit has pistol and knife only, no rifle. So you are wasting one skill or the other depending on what you wear at the time.

What is best way to go? Shrug. Snipers stay back, so hacking isn't such a good idea. The heavy inf and medium inf's and special weapons would work well with hacking, as would engineer.

Mind you this is just from 2 or 3 hours of playing, but all day reading :P

hackers/inf don't suck =) they are a great role.. but most of your XP isn't coming from you killing like a sniper.. your xp will come in bulk from baseclaims.

i have killed MANY as a inf being stealthed... it's just a differnet form of killing.. alot of strafing to the back of a player and hosing him down with my handgun.

but going sniper/hack isn't all that

keep in mind.. if you focus on 1 char forever.. you can play every role in the game.

as for a br20 sniper.. who knows.. if i ever get that far in beta.. i would spread it over to refinofrced armor(3), wraith(2) heavy assulst(4)..

with reinforced armmor you have 2 main weapon slots aswell as 2 handguns slots.. so you can change up between sniping..and when a badguy gets to close..hose him down with your chaingun.. and sitll find a way out on a wraith.

Since I"m not yet in the beta someone feel free to point me in the starting direction of a sniper.

Heheh, check out this link
http://www.planetside.info/nuke/

and some of the otehrs people have posted.

That link has a character builder on the right side, a certification calculator. You can enter your level and it shows how many points you have.

To get sniper, all you ahve to do is get medium assult. Med assult costs 2 points and sniper 3 points (you start with 4).

You can get a new rank just by clicking on everything when you enter the game, then go into the trainer and try out every single weapon and vehicle in the game. That would give you enough to start off as a sniper.

Keep in mind, this isn't a builder like DAoC or EQ, but more like UO, but less restrictive.

Outside of medium assult which seems pretty basic, there are only 3 other skills that have build up advanced stuff. medic/adv medic, engineer/adv engineer, and hacking/adv hacking. Other than that it is 100% open. There are no restrictions outside of inventory/weapon slots your armor gives you.

Much much much more of an open system :)

if u want to be an inf/hacker
u need melee booster
with it on sec knife mode
2 hit = dead man ;)

due to limited space and what not ammo is a prob
my inf/hacker have:
1 box of ammo
REK
1 first aid kit (i use it when i get run over since friendlies don't see u well too)
1 frag grenade (amazing when u see a few infantary stacking together)

ur objectives is to get behind enemies lines tke out their reinforcement and snipers

just like an assassin in daoc ;)
