People that don't are out.
This game is not about #'s for a huge or small squad or KS or getting your name anywhere.
Game is about success and fun.

What are the differences in rank? No one had any idea what rank one needed to be to invite people so when we initially started it we set everyone to chief officer.
Anyone know what each rank designates, as far as permissions go?

Go to:
http://planetside.station.sony.com You can tack on /beta if you are in already. You need to apply there, and it will have you upload your dxdiag.txt to them. You should get accepted pretty quickly, and receive an email with a cdkey. Previously they were shipping out cd's only, and it came slow.
There is also a link where you download just the patcher, then it patches up the entire game. I'll try to get hyla or daoiid or mosthula to post that link. Be warned, it took hyla over 2 days to download over cable link, because the patcher hangs all the time and has to be restarted. Mosthula did it in a few hours but he started it the first day you could do it, so beat the rush a bit.
Thing is, you have to have an account activated witha cd key before you can patch up, so it won't do a lot of good with out that info.

You WILL have to subscribe for one month. It's only about $7.

It worked for me last night.
Takes about 2 hours to download on cable modem. Then took 40 minutes to patch. Not too bad.
