Horizons Beta

I got into the horizons beta today. Anyone else in it? Anyhow...ill update this post tonight or tomorrow with my thoughts on the game.

Anyways im in Horizons Beta on the Spirit server. Got a question about HZ just ask and Ill answer.

I dont know if I like the game yet or not though. 0 pvp just doesnt seem like a game that can last me very long. Reading about TOA actually is making me think about coming back to DAOC but I dont know...

Anyways if you want into beta there is a real super secret way to get in that gets you in automatically. Well its not "super secret" but most poeple dont know about it.

Ill just copy my post I made in the Frost Horde's boards and on my HZ guild's boards...

Send an email here betahorizons@atari.com and say that you would make a great applicant yadda yadda yadda. Make sure to make it look nice and make sure you dont run on a 56k modem.

The hardware requirements would be the only thing to hold you from getting in. They are
850 MHz Pentium III or AMD Athlon processor
GeForce 2
256 MB RAM
Windows 2000/XP/98/Me
High-speed connection (anything but dial up)

You also have to make sure you sign up on betatests.net (Atari's beta testing page) and make sure to click horizons after you register and get your confirmation email.

Then when you email them asking to get in make sure its from the same email as the one you signed up on the beta testing page.

As long as you meet the requirements youll be in within the week.

How is the game so far though? Having fun? Does it seem to have any longevity (despite no pvp)? Is it balanced well?

Fun scale on a 1 - 10 id give it a 5. Good enough to play for free, but if its like this at release im not playing.

Longevity is what it has. It has plenty of potential (but so does Shadowbane) Its just missing tons of content and its a month from release. There isnt ANY high levle content at all. Considering a true powergamer can reach 20-30 within a week or two thats pretty bad.

Balance isnt really needed since you can change your class at any time by visiting that classes trainer. Leveld up to 20 as Bam the warrior but tired of that? You can go to the druid trainer and become a level 1 druid with llevel 20 warrior hp and some skills.
Its beta but right now the biggest unbalanced stuff is that dwarves can become invincible for 30 seconds (obviously a bug and soon to be fixed) and scouts are super powerful kiters.
