Any advice on specking a Norse Skald?

Hehe, this is my first skald as well Law... I don't know if you should put TOO much faith in what I have to say

I plan on 46 battle song, 44 sword, 17 parry. (I may take sword higher I haven't quite decided yet. I might go 46/46/10).

With 46 songs I get the last damage add which is about all I can contribute to a group so that is why I am taking songs that high. Some skalds on the VN boards reccomend stopping at 44 which is the last shout. I wouldn't recommend specing any higher than 46.

There is also some debate as to how high you take your weapon spec. Because there is some benefit in taking weapon spec over 50 with + to skill items, some people recommend dumping what you don't put in songs into weapon. So if you take songs to 44 you can spec weapon to 49. Personally I feel the that the benefits of taking weapon that high are not worth the points. I'd rather be able to tank a little more effectively with the points in parry. Hope this has helped a little.

Forget parry, as a skald, you will barely get to use it. Being Norse and not Kobby, your chances are even worse. Skalds are a support tank, so do what they do best. I'd go around 47 Axe. Havoc = one of the best styles in game. Its an everytime style, ok to hit bonus :/ And, 46 songs for last battle chant, you can go a bit higher for resist buffs.

I went something like 47/48/5.

I was about 47+8 axe. 46+8 BS.

Being a skald, you'll want to go 2 hand, harder to parry, more damage, plus you can't spec shield. You want to frontload as much damage as possible and help CC with mez.
