Low latency is one of the reasons we are going with localized servers, this is true. We have also established local teams, including game masters, technical support, and community team members in each region in order to provide quality support to our customers in their native language. Because of this, customers will be able to have their game-related concerns addressed promptly and efficiently by knowledgeable and helpful support representatives who understand local issues.

We want to provide the highest level of service we can, and connecting to a server outside your region makes providing quality support more difficult. We're doing our best to keep the bar raised in terms of supporting you at launch.

I know this means, for some of you, that you should be able to connect to any server you desire. Unfortunately, we cannot provide this service immediately at the North American/Korean launch due to the realities of local billing requirements and privacy of information across international boundaries. That does not mean, however, that solving this issue for you is not important to us, and I reiterate that we plan on providing a solution for those who want to connect cross-regionally.

I hope I've made our reasoning clear to you. :)

Some more bad news for euros (from eurogamer):

Eurogamer: Is it really up in the air?

Chris Sigaty: It's not that it's so up in the air, it really has more to do with when we do launch in the US, so we're shooting as hard as possible - everybody's at work, and I don't even know if I should be saying these things [shoots a look and a smile at George], but everybody's working literally seven days a week there and we are trying to get this game out this year if possible.

George Wang: Actually we're hoping it's going to be launched in the US and Korea this year, and the European launch is coming a few months after that.

Eurogamer: So early next year?

Chris Sigaty: That's what we're shooting for.

As for Australia, they're still consulting their atlas :|
