regarding the size of our guild in WoW

Postby Supreem » Mon Dec 06, 2004 3:52 pm

I know its great to add more experienced PvPers/MMOers into the guild, but do you guys think there should be a limit to the size we will expand. I think BWC in WoW is larger now than it ever has been in DAOC. Here are the disadvantages to growing too large:

1. The guild becomes unmanageable.
2. Guild chat spam gets out of hand.
3. Our raids end up getting too large...really big raids take longer than they should especially dealing with LDs
4. The leader to member ratio gets bad... We really only have a few people who are willing to step up and lead events. (myself excluded... i hate leading =)
5. Loss of that family feeling. (In DAOC I knew almost everyone in the guild and felt part of a family)

IMO I think we have hit our maximum. At the very least we should not go over 100 members. What does everyone else think?

Sup, I appreciate the post.

Some of my comments:

1. The game has been out for 2 weeks, people are going to get bored and quit, and we need some new people to reinsert into that.

2. This game is based on levels and large raids, PVP or not. 5 man will not cut it always. I can't wait to take 20-30 BWC to an alliance town.

3. I want people to have fun, and have level ranges to play with.
We have power gamers, and the opposite as well, we need a good range. We just about have that now.

4. BWC got up to 180 different characters at one time. I don't see that happening here. I think our cap should be 100 tops.

5. We need more leaders, and it seems some of those invites have done that as well, and we have differnet people playing at different times.

6. I mean, I just saw you and Adida for the first time on in a while, Winke seems to play everyday, same wiht Eirene, Hall, Z and Nats, and Keabit, off and on.
Maybe over the next couple of weeks we should promote some of the people in game that do well. Gorilla/Kandar seem poised to be first, there are others.

Also, recruiting is closed until after the holidays, let's try to limit # of alts, and what do you think of only me inviting people period, not even officers, but you can remove people.?? thoughts?

sounds good to me.... you are right about alot of people going to quit... i guess its easy to reduce the size of the guild hehe just get rid of the bad ones. you are online enough to limit the invites to just you and cele... sounds good to me. like i said im not unhappy with the size of the guild as it is now, but im worried about us getting too large... but not too worried cause i know you were a nazi about that in DAOC =)

We have good people, good level ranges, and play times of EST through PST in the guild, including some from overseas.

We also have people helping each other across the board through quests, items, and skills.

So there. No major problems as of yet approaching the first month..

Hello Dekz, we just remove people...

That aren't going to be online or haven't been on.

If you want to get back in, let me know.

Most people are 40+ now.
