So hit 60 on my pally the other week...

And I'm bored or burned out a bit ... nothing left to do on blue server except raid raid raid for better equipment.

Towns have insta spawn guards so trying to take them is futile.

One idea I came up with for our Whisperwind guild was an alt-night. One night a week where everyone plays their alts, groups up and level caps are in place to make sure we stay the same level; other nice side benefit is a lot of juicy rest xp every week. Just thought BWC may want to do this one night ... it's working well even for guildies getting to know each other that are spread in levels on mains.

If you did an alt-night I think I could get some core of our guild on Whisper to come over ... all good players. I'm sure a few of them would roll priests too :)

Anyways Zoid (UD priest) has been created on BH and I'll be levelling him up.

Why anyone would play on a PvE server in a game designed around PvP is beyond me.

What did you expect at 60?

Actually Sly there is tons of PVP on Whisperwind :)

No rewards and no accomplishment in taking a town has bored me though.

Almost nightly there is a Horde raid of Auberdine (40+ horde) to defend and we normally take it back to them in Crossroads after they give up. I really hope there are rewards for taking/defending towns rather than just battlegrounds later on.

Some fun but until rewards are in place a bit empty ... must be the same on PVP as well.

I dunno man, levelling in contested lands on a PvP server is plenty of challenge at the moment.

Alliance
Paladin
Levelling with no PvP

Sounds like easy mode to me. Might be that, or might be something else I suppose.

Can't be any worse than Andred or did you play PVP in DAOC? ... don't remember you being there.

Pally was created to join some old friends I haven't gamed with since AC ... met a ton of other great people there as well. I'm bringing a core of them over that I know can handle a PVP environment.

I played Andred or Mordred briefly (don't remember which ask super). I hated DAoC though, so even that couldn't keep me playing.

As for the comparo, I wasn't saying you couldn't handle levelling on a PvP server.

I was saying I think it may be why you are bored. You've got the easiest class, on the easiest side, on the easiest server type.

I'm just trying to help you figure out what might be boring you.

It could be something else totally of course, but when I see PvE, Alliance, Paladin, I also see the major possibility that you are bored because it was far too easy and meaningless.

Hunters/Warlocks are easiest to solo level.

Paladins are only slightly better than rogues in terms of solo speed.

Pally's are easy to solo level but in instances/group pvp the class gets more complicated to play since we're not really good at one thing but fill-in on everything (tank/heal/buff, protect priest). Other classes really have 1/2 primary functions; mage cc/nuke, warrior - tank, rogue - tank/sap, etc. If there is no priest your swapping blessings in tight situations (going with light to improve heals) and trying to keep people alive in general not to mention rebuff every 5 min.

Not talking about number of buttons to mash.

Talking about out and out survivability. Paladin is unparalelled in the "I can screw up 3 times and live" department.

Until you've played to 60 don't rely on VN boards to tell you how uber a pally is.

PVP wise...

Priest, Warlock beat a pally. Priest mana burn (end of story) ... Warlock fear/dot/pet it's damn hard to even get close to land a blow.

Shaman in general beats a pally. Some fights I've had are fairly even BUT only when I constantly destroy totems. It's a long long fight and in the end battle of mana pools.

Rogue/Warrior fairly even fight. Once a warrior has you to 25% health your pretty much finished if he does Execute.

Mage I've dueled with mixed results. After playing a mage it's pretty easy to beat a pally IMHO if they use all their tools ... especially counterspell when your low on health. Mages have more tricks than any class with poly, blink, frost nova, snaring frost spells and high DPS output.

Hunter no clue since I haven't fought one yet but with range + pet their DPS output is the highest so I doubt I could win unless I managed to pop on top of him in which case I'd have a chance with Hammer of Justice.

Blizzard built us to be the most survivable class ... in general we survive but actually winning a fight is tough ... no range and lower dps than all melee classes.

People whine cause they can't finish a pally ... not because they get owned by them.

Bro...

I said most survivable. I never said they can't be killed in PvP. You're on a PvE server.

Playing the most survivable class. With no random gankers killing you constantly. I'm not here to debate uber pally. I'm trying to help you see what might be the cause of your boredom.

Lack of challenge.

Sly, Me, and Dwayne all started CoE on Andred. We were the initial 3 on Andred, we even leveled to around 8 together. I quit the next day.

I agree with Sly though. You have no challenge playing the character/realm you do. PvE = jerk off with your friends while you button mash for rare epics.

but you somehow obtained a 50 skald and personally offended a minstrel named amberyl to the point she would pre-emptively flame anyone in guild. hehehehe
