Rogue Temp

Was trying to figure out what i want in my rogue came up with this template. I wanna use him for farming nodes,money, and to have fun in pvp

will this spec do this?

Wil probally use daggers unless thats a mistake

Assassination Talents (21 points)

# Malice - 5/5 points
Increases your critical strike chance by 5%.

# Improved Eviscerate - 3/3 points
Increases the damage done by your Eviscerate ability by 15%.

# Murder - 2/2 points
Increases your chance to hit while using your Sap, Ambush, Garrote, or Cheap Shot abilities by 5%.

# Ruthlessness - 3/3 points
Gives your finishing moves a 60% chance to add a combo point to your target.

# Relentless Strikes - 1/1 point
Your finishing moves have a 20% chance per combo point to restore 25 energy.

# Lethality - 5/5 points
Increases the critical strike damage bonus of your Sinister Strike, Gouge, Backstab, Ambush, Ghostly Strike, or Hemorrhage ability by 30%.

# Improved Instant Poison - 1/5 point
Increases the chance to apply Instant Poison to your target by 2%.

When activated, increases the critical strike chance of your next Sinister Strike, Backstab, Ambush, or Eviscerate by 100%.



Combat Talents (7 points)

# Improved Gouge - 3/3 points
Increases the effect duration of your Gouge ability by 1.5 seconds.

# Improved Sinister Strike - 2/2 points
Reduces the Energy cost of your Sinister Strike ability by 5 Energy.

# Improved Backstab - 2/3 points
Increases the critical strike chance of your Backstab ability by 20%.



Subtlety Talents (23 points)

# Camouflage - 5/5 points
Increases your speed while stealthed by 15%.

# Opportunity - 5/5 points
Increases the damage dealt when striking from behind with your Backstab, Garrote, or Ambush abilities by 20%.

# Improved Ambush - 3/3 points
Increases the critical strike chance of your Ambush ability by 40%.

# Initiative - 5/5 points
Gives you a 75% chance to add an additional combo point to your target when using your Ambush, Garrote, or Cheap Shot ability.

# Ghostly Strike - 1/1 point
A strike that deals 125% weapon damage and increases your chance to dodge by 15% for 7 seconds. Awards 1 combo point.

# Improved Sap - 1/3 point
Adds a 30% chance to return to stealth mode after using your Sap ability.

# Improved Cheap Shot - 2/2 points
Reduces the Energy cost of your Cheap Shot ability by 20.

# Preparation - 1/1 point
When activated, this ability immediately finishes the cooldown on your other Rogue abilities.

hard to sap if you don't have improved sap....
when you aggro all those mobs, umm... they can hurt you bad.

First off, I don't think Improved Ambush is that useful because it only affects Ambush, and I start 80-90% of my fights, especially in pvp with CS.

For now, I have a mixed spec which has Cold Blood, Blade Flurry (uber for pve), camo, and MoD (only 4/5) for pvp stealth needs.

I personally went against the combo point route (seal fate/initiative/etc) because I feel like the battles are too fast to deal worry about getting an extra, especially since i'm always with another rogue. I could be wrong about this, so I may experiment with those abilities later. I focused on sustained damage and crit %.

The one thing I might change is removing Blade Flurry, after I hit 60 since it's not nearly as useful for pvp. Then I'd basically move points from combat to subtlety or seal fate.

key things:

Dual Wield spec - Increases off hand dps from 50% to 75% of off-hand weapon dps. Given equal dps for two weapons, would increase total dps by 17%.

Blade Flurry - 15 seconds of increased attack speed, with bonus of hitting a second target. I use this whenever i have more than one mob in melee range. With 2 even con mobs, by the time the first is dead, the second is at 40-60% health. 2 minute cooldown goes by quickly.

Cold Blood - basically, really good to use on high combo point evicerates. I don't have this yet, but at lvl 48, I'm doing 1200 on even cons when I crit. If I can do that consistently, that would be nice.

Camouflage - At lvl 60, stealth speed goes from 70% to 85%.

MoD - I'm not sure how much this helps since it was nerfed in Beta. May put points somewhere else if I don't think it helps.

I'm missing a lot of cool stuff in the Subtlety tree, but this is basically the only way to get both Cold Blood and Blade Flurry. Blade Flurry is a must in pve, but doesn't seem like it's that useful in pvp, so I may drop it later.

The damage that the combo points do is insane. 5 point eviscerates hit for like 1k as a norm I think. It's ridiculous.

Also, you might want to keep preparation. It owns!

Preparation seems like the other uber ability. I could basically use all of my ubers like vanish, evasion, blade flurry, cold blood, kidney shot, and then use Preparation to reset them all. I think if I get rid of Blade Flurry, I'll get this for sure.

As for combo points, 5 point evicerates will do 1k+ usually only on crits. I watched a video with a level 60 rogue 5 point evicerating lvl 61-64 mobs. They were either around 700 (non crit) or 1400 (crit). In pve, i have no problems getting combo points easily. In pvp, i'm going to concentrate on stunlocking them anyway, and they die so fast, that I figure it's more important for me maximize my damage independent of combo points first. I would like more combo points, but the combo point talents give you only a chance to get more combo points which only then manifest themselves in the finishing move. Something like dual wield spec which increases melee output by 17% or like Blade Flurry which increase your attack speed and will double your damage output (not including skill attack damage) seem like they do more in the end than increased chances for extra combo points.

That's just my opinion. If I come up with a spec where I drop blade flurry and get preparation, I'll post it.

Not having a rogue never limits you from doing something as it currently stands. Not having a mage or a priest does.

rogues are one of, if not the best dps in the game. don't hate.
we use 4 in MC, but maybe thinking about 6 because damage output is so high, and we need to take down bosses faster or else going into MC with 20 major mana pots won't be enough to finish it :(
