At this stage of the game, Mining, Tailoring, or Alchemy. This way you can help your guild mates pump out mooncloth, arcane crystals, or arcanite bars at a faster rate. A lot of these higher tier recipies (the ones that are actually worth making) require quite a bit of each (20 bars for a reaper, 30 bars for invuln. mail, 10 bars for heartseeker, 12 bars for Lionheart, 10 mooncloth for the belt of the archmage, plus mooncloth for the various epic bop robe patterns like truefaith, and the bottomless bag of course, which I have yet to see) so the more people you have that can mine crystals, or create bars/mooncloth, the faster the guild as a whole will be able to churn out these materials, which will enable you to get more people upgraded in the same amount of time. In my guild all alts are now required to have at least one of those three skills, preferably two.

Well my main is a mage so I wont be going blacksmithing. Mining is by far the best gathering trait (selling materials for cash) and I would highly recommend that to newbie toons. I see stacks of (10) copper go for 60-70s; not bad for a lvl 5 toon. I have a 270 herbalism so alchamy makes sense. I also wear cloth so tailoring also makes sense. Thanks for the responses.
