DAoC Roundtable

For those of you in the dark, Mythic talked about the future of DAoC at their roundtable event this weekend, and here is what they are adding:

1) Better guild system: They are going to add more guild management capability, allowing guilds to charge weekly/monthly "dues" if they want, to raise money, among other things. They are going to also add Guild Banners that you can carry into a fight that will give you certain bonuses. You can also steal other guilds banners as trophys.

This is expected as a big patch in July.

2) Mounts, yes, finally. They are going to add mounts to the game. Basic versions will be available to everyone. Advanced versions can also be gotten via quests and Champion Levels (see below).

3) Champion Levels: The next Master Levels, but they say they have learned. They will be available either via RvR or PvE. It looks like these will give a few things, such as access to high end gear on par with artifacts (but won't need levelling). They apparently will all be obtainable with a good FG of players.

They are going to also allow subclassing, as part of champion levels. They will have 5 sublevels, you can either go up to level 5 in one line, or level 1 in 5 lines. They have said they are going to be minor in nature (no AE effects, mez, etc), more like a minor heal if you subclass in the healing line.

Most of this stuff will be out in 8 months or something far off like that, but looks kinda cool.
