Lol, I would have guessed Qrak RearPounder before that last name.
Say hi to those gimps for me

There's only 1 server, you guys can all say hi to them yourselves
I'm still level 6.5, didn't get to play last night. I'm a little more psyched about my mo/ra after reading up a little more on it wed.
it's probably not ideal, but the people i know apparently already have 4 mesmer secondaries, no need for a 5th.
apparently the pet is useless since it's easy to kill and disables me for 8 sec if it dies. but for pve so far, its been nice.
i'm kinda not happy i don't get that disable ability rangers get in their primary (if you interrupt someone with it, that spell is disabled for 20 sec... could be huge since the qbars are only

. hunters do get energy sap arrows, disabling arrows, and some pretty powerful regens, snares, etc (troll unguent is pretty fucking ridiculous) which look pretty decent for personal survivability (which is good for a primary healer as has always been in every game), and the base non-energy-consuming bow damage is of course better than wands and magic staves (at least from what i see so far) and i'm pretty sure is the longest ranged damage in the game.
looking forward to getting that self-bunker+baod ability rangers get too.
still though, the game's pve is complete shit so far. i don't care how you want to massage it or spin it, you can't argue that there are some glaring issues with it. pathing especially. it's just so retarded.. you can walk through a 3 foot high bush, but you can't step over a broken knee high wooden fence. you can walk towards the river's edge but hit an invisible wall 1 ft from the water.
the game doesn't even have a lag meter... when/if you start lagging, the game really fucks up. my roommate threw on a few torrents which slowed my connection down, and my character started warping all over the place, much to my dismay. really freaking annoying.
as for the 8 spell system, yea, this basically dumbs the game down. it leans it towards situational calls, as opposed to on-the-spot calls, which more skilled gamers are more adept at. again, this recalls the whole magic the gathering game. there are 20,000 spells you can pick from, but you can only bring 60 of them to any given fight. there is some skill needed in designing a decent 60 spell combo to win you a tournament, but the bottom line is, given a minimum skill level, all you need to do is memorize what kind of opponents you'll be going against and insert cookie cutter template here. skill involvement = low. they have that problem now. the pros publish a known working 60 spell combo , people copy it, and now all the kiddies and freaking idiots are all playing pro-level decks, merely because mommy and daddy were able to buy them everything they needed. i already see it now. people are posting optimal 8 spell configurations for different scenarios and people are just copying them around. sure, there's skill involved, just like there was still skill involved in playing that magic the gathering game. but it's not the same amount of skill as if you had to learn 80 spells, and be able to pick out which situation to use each of the 80 spells at any given time.
anyways enough of the rant, the main point of my post is that there are a lotta little retarded things they did with this game. i'll hold out hope that the end game is better than this beginning. pvp can make up for a lot.
