Where are you?

Couple things: 1. Can we get a new board here for alliance?

2. Update Chode Warrior of the week

3. Where are you?

4. We miss you

Law is an idiot and I miss you too. I tried installing new RAM nd my comp is down.

It ends up I needed some RAM bus (shitty stuff my comp takes). I bought 256 megs but fumbled the install. May have either not grounded myself correctly; although I was carefull, or fucked up one of the chips carrying them around the store and in my truck. Working on it ASAP but I am wiped after the card+new RAM (200$ total) for now.

I'll check in here from my bros machine and once I am off project, from work.

The new Alliance forum will be up tonight 2/26.

usually memory is fairly stable and can be tossed around a bit...

RDRAM (rambus) MUST be installed in identical pairs (of type AND size)... and if you have any empty slots, you must put spacers in it... You also must not mix PC600 and PC800 memory. Sometimes the motherboard will underclock the 800 and run them both as 600, but doesn't have to :P...

My comp came with slots 1&3 empty/ 2&4 64m chips. I bought 2 128m (140$) chips for slots 1&3. I am not sure if 1&3 are compatable with 2&4. LOL...this shit is a pain, to be honest I am taking 1k from my tax returns and just getting another machine. I am not sure how much more cash I will spend on my current pile. May need to look into an internet cafe, lol.

I'll be building a new computer late this year, when the slew of new technology is released... Will probably end up spending 2-3 grand just on parts... :dontgetit:

I hate how my computer runs sooo slowly on daoc

I was overclocking mine and it made a vast improvement... was actually acceptable to play on, but I believe the crappy SiS chipset isn't good enough to handle it because the computer will randomly reboot.

It is by no means overheating (only 120F).
