I'm currently an Air/Sword specced War/Ele. I really like the spec, but its very specialized. I can do massive front-loaded DPS, but without heals and an assist train it's not very useful.

I know we have an ideal setup in Ting's thread that has a slot for a war/necro.

Should I respec? Or wait until we actually do some GvG to see if we can come up with our own strategery that lets people play what they want to?

I'll do whatever the guild needs because I want to win, but I'm not respeccing unless I absolutely have to.

Necro warriors are 1 trick ponies and are 1 mesmer from being just a warrior that hurts themselves.

I would say wait till we can feild a grp before we think about "Elite" Group Builds.

Were almost ready to get grps going everynight, and doing PvP I have a feeling well win 95% right now just cause were experianced players and orginazed. When we get raped by another Guild in Guild Vs guild we can tweak are strategies. But like anything we must compete and learn before we can really put anythign sold on paper.

Me and Adida proved that experienced gamers can't compete without the flavor builds ATM... aka... monk stacked grouping.

1) they fixed stacking balth aura.

2) just play a aoe monk to see all their shortcomings.


example:

majority of their damage output revolves around 3 things..

1) balth aura - 25 energy, 10s.
2) zealots fire - massive spell spamming.
3) both require enemies to be in touch range.

fix? after they balth aura, backfire, stack on another hex or two, and guess what? their balth aura is wasted, or they end up killing themselves.

Once you see the balth aura dmg, just run. When it runes out 10 sec later, you have an oop monk running around with 3 strippable enchantments. go to town.

this game is all about the metagame. if aoe monks are fotm, then adapt, or run one yourself.

our group didn't run one before, but have been running just 1 of them. when we notice another monk aoe spamming, we either strip all their enchantments, hex-dump on them, energy drain them (you can't aoe spam without energy.. it takes a ton of energy), or simply just walk out of it :/

notice that you need it for defending HoH? Run 1 or 2 Mark of Protections and a spell breaker as your 3 monk elites. you can still keep whatever group setup you want, just be willing to adapt. groups that put all their eggs in 1 basket get raped. you can win as long as you're willing to run different types of counters to supplement your group's main focus.
