The price for EQ2 went down to 30$ so me and adida said what the hell and we picked it up. To my suprise, I'm actually having fun with it so far. I've only been playing for 3 days and I have a level 11 sorceror. The world looks great and is jam packed with content. Its true that the game holds your hand and is MUCH easier than EQ1 but I don't mind it too much. What I really like about it is the immersive feel. You really feel like you are in another world. I just didnt get that feeling in WoW. It all seemed too fake. So flame me if you want but im going to be playing EQ2 until it gets boring. Najena server, name is Prana

really isn't that bad we found a guild lastnight and it was just one of those random can i join things. to our surprise everyone was rerolling froglings and was our level. Which is really cool because we aren't just joining a guild and them telling us we have to level on our own and you just get the guild tag.

the real test is will it keep your interest for more than a week or a few weeks. I don't find out I hate a MMORPG until I've played it for a bit, I liked City of Heroes for about a month, Anarchy Online for a week, Everquest for a couple weeks, etc...then I got bored

Coh was bad, really bad. Same shitty mobs all over again just 2-3 lvls higher then the previus pack. Also there were to many Xmen wannabee's and it would honestly make you sick after 2 weeks of playing it.

I liked COH but couldnt afford it and DAOC. So i cancelled it after the 1st week. But it was pretty repetitive. I will say this everytime I see a Marvel movie i get close to reactivating my account. I do miss throwing pool tables at enemies.

I had a Dr.Strange looking guy who was defensive it was pretty cool being support.

EQ = me sad for j00

Farm your ass off for gear only to have all your gear be crap with the next patch or expansion .....

no end game, whats the point?

Its a pissing contest about gear, guilds and whatever else they can come up with.

Alas, if you guys are going to stick with it you can let me know as my old guild [they were the uber PvE guild] rolled a sister guild in EQ2 and from what Ive read and heard they continue to set the path.

Having fun is the bottom line and if youre having it, yay for you guys =)

I miss ya both.

See people who look at it that way are missing the point IMO. I play it to explore the world, interact with people and NPCs and to fight all types of different monsters. I never liked the endgame in EQ (I quit pretty much when I hit 50) but I loved everything leading up to it.

I love to explore and EQ2 has so far been successful in immersing me in their world. Thats why I play it. Not to deal with bullshit politics and to raid for hours on end to get more gear so I can raid better.

I enjoyed EQ when it was all new to me also Derek, eventually you will want more, well, I did. [of course I played EQ for 3 years and at the end just the thought of logging in disgusted me.]
