We are very pleased to announce our plan for the next server type for Dark Age of Camelot. We've made this decision based on your feedback from our polls and Herald feedback forms – thank you all for your passionate and detailed feedback on these issues.


The new server type will be called “Alternative Rules” and has two main features: no access to Trials of Atlantis and “ranged buffs”. Here are the details:

Trials of Atlantis: ToA zones will not be available, nor will Artifacts or Master Levels. You will be able to play ToA races, however.

Ranged Buffs: All concentration buffs will have a range limit of 5000 units, and will be available only to the buffer and his groupmates. Anyone outside of the group cannot receive concentration buffs.

/level 20: This feature will not be available on this server type.

Our schedule is to launch two of these servers on or around July 14. We will “pre launch” the servers two days early for anyone who has an active account as of July 1st – it will give those players who already have active accounts a 2-day sneak preview of this new server type.

Thank you all for your feedback we have received on these issues, and we hope that this server type will provide an interesting alternative ruleset to Dark Age of Camelot. The work doesn't end here, however – please keep the feedback coming.

If there was an actual showing of people, and people decided on classes so we could play together as a guild, then yeah, I would do it. But I would totally not level up again and be the odd man out of rvr groups because someone has the croc tear ring (not that that could happen here, since there is no ToA, but still).

I wouldnt mind it. I really dont want to go Hib...but who knows. As long as its not as bandwagony (invented word) as normal servers I would go I guess.

Everyone will be a vampiir tho...lol

If we rolled as a Guild I would make a comeback return.

Roll mids again.

Idea:

Roll Some Old School Pbae in Malm, 48hrs have 50's then hit RvR and all leveling spots like hib fins grps, roll around in RvR dungeons and rape anyone leveling in DF. Man.... first 2-3 weeks we could rape anything and anyone.

I'm don't care where we roll. I do agree with Filth though and TT. We HAVE to be organized. So say that we decide to roll on Mid...what classes would you guys play?

I'm down.. unfortunately the server is opening during crunch time at my work. I'll have to roll my toon in September when crunch time is over and catch up to you guys in levels.

I'll probably be doing neither...since Mids are nerfed hardcore even more on new server. Hibs/Albs would be easy to level due to pet spam classes. Banshees/Vampiirs will rock the server. Shamans got nerfed because end endurance are "buffs" and buffs have a specific range on that server.

I might have a new profession soon...so probably no more online games for a while...

Bleh... Mid.... I did that for so long already... I would prefer Hib personally, but if a good number of people were going to go to Mid, then I would probably play a Warrior, or a Skald.

see that D wants to do. I'm up for anything. I rather not pick a fotm classes like vamps just because there the buffless class that everyone wants to roll 1Vs1.

Yeah, I agree, I played a Vamp on Perc, and it was fun as shit, but I don't want to fotm to that class on that server.

Sounds interesting - I might be able to recruit some of the better pvpers from Damon, if your serious.

i alrdy play too many servers but if bwc gets into it seriously i might try it out.
