So whats the verdict on The Island?

Personally I like it for what it is, a potentially zergy, rapid fire fight environment, that if you are running in a good group or 2g, is a hell of alot of fun with very little downtime in between. If you want pure uninterupted 8v8, it's probably not the place.
When I've fought there, we've had alot of adds and 3ways. Be fighting one group and mid-fight another piles on, and then another, shit OOM, but wait, here come some albs, etc. At the same time, I haven't seen roaming 40man zergs like the old emain days, though mids come close, zerging FOTM bastards. And fuckin shammies sure like to spam disease! Stinky bastards!
RA's seem to be down more. You won't see high RR groups use SOS every single fight like is the norm in the vast frontier. Mez actually sticks, and your groups demezzer & interupter is valued more.
My best RVR so far since coming back to DAOC was last night on the Island, in the best PUG I could ever hope for. With a good sorc and Minstrel, and a kickass theurgist, albs can compete just fine.
So I give it a thumbs up. I
