Or are we doing your highschool class project, LOL.
You still forgot option 4, none of the above, which would indicate how many current console owners don't plan on upgrading, or non-console owners aren't planning on jumping into the console arena.

i owned a:
ps2: got it for free from sony, and love it.. shadows of collosis beta for the win!
xbox: got it for free from xbox, have yet to play any real entertaining games on it.
gamecube: paided top dallor for it, and love it for re4, and mario kart, and defjam fight for new york

no im not in highschool
i plan on buying one or the other and i want to make sure that i buy the best one, and the one with the best games will probably be the one that most people buy

playstation tends to have the best selection of games.

i can wait the year for the ps3.. i wont find any joe in the xbox 360, the games all blow, i'll just be kicking myself for buying it

amit, if you're gonna buy one now, it's pretty much a no-brainer to buy an xbox, since after modding, the xbox becomes the super platform of choice.
but i'd probably wait for november and buy an xbox 360. most of the A titles from Xbox will work on the xbox 360.
a full backward compatibility list isn't out yet though. if you enjoy playing multiplayer online games, xbox really is the only choice. personally, i like playing coop games with friends, or just killing random noobs, so xbox live is perfect for me.
as for opinions on games, ignore bulor. both consoles have quality games, just the xbox ones look better
