Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures has been pushed further down the calendar yet again. The massively multiplayer online role-playing game set in the universe created by Robert E. Howard was originally due to muscle in to the market in 2006.
It was then delayed to the first quarter of 2007, before being delayed to the second quarter of 2007, and then being delayed to October 30. Gamers will perhaps not be surprised to learn that it is once again being delayed, and is now due for release on March 25, 2008.
Funcom's CEO Trond Arne Aas said that the company regretted the delay, but saw it as a necessary one. He said in a statement, "After careful consideration, and analysis of recent beta feedback, we believe that the new release date is in the best interest of the gamers, our company and our owners. We are fully committed to delivering games with absolute quality, and in the current MMO marketplace we know that only the best is good enough to truly succeed."

Kinda knew this was going to happen, it's already August and was still in closed beta........It's for the best ofcourse but I was hoping to have something to hold me over until WAR, guess it will have to be DnD for the PSP. Now they also have to consider that they will be competing with WAR if they can stick to this release date.

mark my words Corporate EA will pull the carpet right underneath Mythic if they have any considerable production delays. It will get released on time unfinished or not. My money is on Mythic being absorbed into EA when it happens too.

After Funcom's Anarchy Online release debacle, as many here might have experienced *cough*, there is probably no way in hell they will release a game that isn't quality again.
Be interesting to see both of these come out and go head-to-head about the same time.
