Well after some thought and internet browsing I will upgrading to a new pc but over time. I am going to order 2 more gigs of ram and a 500gb hdd today, which I hope will run AOC with low/medium settings. Next month I will think about getting a new processor, mobo, and video card. What are most of you going to do?

Only cost 80$ w/ shipping.

Zeratul,

If you're planning on buying a brand new computer, not sure on your price range. There is some new stuff out that you should keep an eye out for in your new rig. Specifically DDR3 ram as opposed to DDR2 and PCI express 2.0 motherboard 'and' video card compatability. Right now all older gen mobos and video cards are PCIe 1.0. I just finished building my new PC last night!!

While DDR3 and PCI express 2 would be helpful for future upgrading... If you are trying to cut costs down now, you're better off sticking with DDR2 and PCI Express 1 (unless the board you pick just happens to have 2 already).

The performance difference at this point is minimal, yet the costs are much higher.

indeed it is pricey, my mobo ran me about $230 >< which is a good chunk! But i recently sold my older computer (6 months old) to my sister who needed it very much.

Sticking to DDR2 and PCIe 1.0 was a difference of a maybe 200-400 bucks, so i chose the more expensive route :P

Welcome Chubz,

I will just be upgrading slowly, already got the ram and the hdd. Yeah thanks for the heads up, gotta keep an eye out for compatibility issues as well as prices. I have been checking newegg and tigerdirect for prices and parts.

I have no clue if I'm going to be able to run this game. I'm on an Intel Mac booted into Winblows. Should be interesting to see how well Apple made their drivers. My hardware is above the recomended, but there's always that M$ hates Apple thing...have to wait till it ships to my house to install though...so it might be a while before I figure this out :) If it doesn't, at least I only spent 20 bucks for the game...and I might be able to sell it for 40
