I'm in the same boat. If AoC is crappy, then I'll jump ship to Classic Classic DAoC, or I might do WAR. I say might because warhammer is coming out in the middle of the fall semester and video games have tainted my college career long enough. At least with AoC the leveling will be pretty much done by the time next semester starts.
