AoC Massive Battles or Instance malarky?

Any testers want to shed some light. Im reading on the forums FC went from Saying massive battles to Instanced pvp ALA alterac Valley
48vs48
any truth to this?

What I read lead me to believe that the BK sieges were instanced, and were 48vs48. I'm not sure if this is just for the BK sieges or what, I still want to know how FF works for guildmates vs just groupmates.

The 48v48 is just the keep battles.
The zones are instanced tho, similar to CoH f you played that.
