Greetings!

The Test Server patch for Beta 3.3 is now live. The servers are not yet open for play yet but we recommend you get a head start and download the 250mb patch!

Beta 3.3 Producer's Letter - Deathsword

Hello Everyone,

As you may have noticed our versions are showing up faster and faster. This is an obvious sign that we're in that final march towards launching WAR! Most of our systems are in place so we're working on polishing up what we currently have. There are still a few items (such as the Auction House, for example) that we are fastidiously working on getting into the game. We certainly want the players to be able to trade their extra loot with each other through a secure means for fun and profit.

The Elder program has continued to work out very well for all of us. You have been able to help us test our end game content on the RvR side a few times over now. Just this past weekend, you were able to experience the glory that is the full Tier 4 Campaign across all three pairings. With your feedback, we'll be able to continue to polish it to make it even better.

In this, the Beta 3.3 patch, we'll have you continue to help us with end game testing. Over the next few days, we'll have you back in Tier 4, but instead of putting you at the higher end, we've added templates for you at the beginning of Tier 4: Rank 31, Realm Rank 25 to be precise. This will allow you to better explore the full Tier 4 experience this time around, including Public Quests, quests, scenarios, and all forms of content with the progression the way it is designed. Once we've had you look at it, this is what we'll be rolling out to the Beta servers later this week.

After that, we'll get back to having you test content that only you, the Elders, will ever get to see and test. We'll go back to our cities for another round of evening tests. Just like before, we'll have them up for a number of hours in the evening. We'll start with Altdorf first, followed up by The Inevitable City. This go around, we'll have everything with the cities turned on. This means that from the get-go when you set foot into the city you'll have access to all of the quests and dungeons that are available. Work your way through the city through the city-wide PQ while queuing up for the scenario at the same time. For this round, we're not going to be manually flipping the cities into captured mode until around the last day-- It will be up to you to try and capture it, or successfully defend it, yourselves. If you do manage to flip a city so that it is captured, you'll be able to work your way through the two sub-boss Public Quests and unlock the final King Encounter. Coordinate your efforts, and you will be able to take on Karl Franz or Tchar'zanek themselves!

Combat and Careers

General
*When you become Battle Ranked, you will now be healed up as well (unless you are in combat).
*You no longer lose Bolster when you die.
*Ability damage contribution for Off-hand damage has been increased.
*All abilities with a zero buildup time are set to be able to used on the run should you be disoriented.
*The Tactics Editor will now display a lockout clock letting you know how much time is left before you can once again adjust tactics
*All abilities with a zero buildup time are set to not be able to be setback should you be disoriented.

Dwarf - Racial Tactics
*Stoutness of Stone now halves the duration of Stuns and Knockdowns used on you.
*Stubbornness now provides far more Corporeal resistance.
*Ancestral Inheritance now provides more Armor.

Orcs - Racial tactics
*I'm Da Biggest! is now a Wounds increase.
*Increased the effectiveness of Don't Bother Me None.
*Increased the effectiveness of Stab You Gooder.

Goblin - Racial tactics
*Reduced the effectiveness of Whazat Behind You?
*Whazat Behind You? moved to rank 11.
*Increased the effectiveness of Too Smart For Dat.
*Too Smark For Dat moved to rank 17.
*Changed the effect of RUN AWAY!.
*RUN AWAY! moved to rank 23.

Empire - Racial tactics
*Increased the effectiveness of Emperor's Ward
*Moved Emperor's Ward to rank 11.
*Increased the effectiveness of Unwavering Faith.
*Removed Persistent.
*Added a new tactic at rank 23, Sigmar's Favor.

Chaos - Racial Tactics
*Warped Flesh now gives you a chance to proc a damage absorb shield.
*Tzeentch's Warding now provides far more Elemental resistance.
*Backlash is now a more likely to proc, and deals more damage when it does.

High Elf - Racial Tactics
*Centuries of Training now adds a chance for your attacks to proc a DoT.
*Bend the Wind now provides much more Elemental Resistance.
*Discerning Offense now makes you even harder to defend against.

Dark Elf - Racial Tactics
*Blade Mastery has been replaced with Dark Blessings, a tactic that increases the amount of incoming healing.
*Dark Elf Magical Alignment has been replaced with Alignment of Naggaroth which increases Spirit resistances.
*Increased Pain now increases crit damage.

Healer Archetype - Tactics
*Restorative Burst now restores slightly less AP.
*Discipline is a new Healer Archetype tactic that increases Willpower.

Melee DPS - Tactics
*Jagged Edge's damage has been increased.
*Brute Force's effect has been increased.
*Flanking's effect has been increased.
*Riposte no longer requires dual wield.

Melee DPS - Morale
*Sever Nerve will no longer require you to be behind or to the side of the target.

Ranged DPS Bow - Tactics
*Expert Skirmisher's effect has been changed to: Increases damage by +25% when under 540u and decreases damage by -20% when over 540u.
*Steady Aim's effect has been changed to: Increases Ballistic Skill by +4 per level of the character.
*Clever Recovery's effect has been changed to: When the character's attacks are dodged, regain 75 AP.
*Pierce Defenses' effect has been changed to: When the character is defended, he reduces the target's block, parry, and dodge chances by 15% for 10s.

Ranged DPS Magic - Tactics
*Reduced the action points restored by Devour Energy.
*Increased the effectiveness of Endless Knowledge.
*Increased the effectiveness of Slight Of Hand.
*Increased the effectiveness of Close Quarters, and reduced the distance breakpoint.
*Increased Sleight Of Hand's effectiveness.
*Changed Devour Energy's effect.

Tank Archetype - Tactics
*Focused Offense now further decreases threat generation.
*Rugged is a new Tank Archetype tactic that increases toughness.
*Unstoppable Juggernaught is a new Tank Archtype tactic that reduces the cooldown of Juggernaught.
*Menace's threat boost has been increased significantly.

Archmage
*Boon of Hysh's healing effect has been increased.
*Dissipating Hatred will no longer require you to be facing your target.
*Removed Conductive Feedback.
*Removed Thorough Draining.
*Removed Searing Blast.
*Removed Forceful Scattering.
*Removed Asuryan's Balancing.

*Good Wif Shield now further increases block chance. Now obtained at rank 27.
*Dat Was Great! now further increases duration of Wot Armor and adds 2 counters instead of 1 per hit.
*Youz See Me Blok' Dat?! is a new tactic that increases your morale whenever you block.
*Bring 'Em On now inspires you with Da' Best Plan whenever you Parry.
*Loudmouth now makes all War Bellows deal damage upon activation.
*Geddoff! makes Big Swing also reduce Toughness and increases debuff duration to 10 seconds.
*Can Youz Hear Me Now? now increases damage of Shut yer Face in addition to reducing cooldown.
*Keep it Goin'! now increases damage and reduces AP cost of Big Slash.
*Gork Smash now further icnreases Crit chance for Good and Best Plans.
*Less Stabin Me now increases Block and Parry Chances while you have Good or Best Plans.
*Mor' Hardcore now gives Right in Da Jibblies and Not in da Face knock back.
*You Got Nuffin' now gives you immunity to Detaunts.
*Big Brawlin' adds a Snare and Disorient to Big Swing.
*No Choppin' Me now makes Follow 'me Lead buff all groupmates near your defensive target.
*Where you Goin'? now mentions on ability description that it breaks half the time after damage.

Bright Wizard
*The Combustion mechanic has received several major changes:
-Almost every ability will now build some amount of Combustion, and will have a chance to cause an Explosion.
-Explosions will no longer cause Combustion to be lost.
-Changed the bonuses to critically hit at each threshold of Combustion.
-Each threshold of Combustion will now also increase the bonus damage from a critical hit.
-Changed the chances to cause an Explosion for all thresholds of Combustion.
-The damage you suffer from an Explosion is now based on the threshold of Combustion that you have built up to, with the lowest threshold being drastically less than the current damage, and the highest threshold being slightly more.
*Smoke Screen will no longer require you to be facing your target.
*Removed Inner Fire.
*Removed Concentrated Power.
*Removed Explosive Force.
*Removed Suffocating Heat.
*Removed Burning Focus.
*Removed Explosive Shield.
*Removed Scorching Wave.
*Moved Lingering Flames to rank 15.
*Lingering Flames now affects Pyroclastic Surge and Scorched Earth, and its effectiveness has been increased.
*Moved Fueled From Within to rank 21, and changed its effect.
*Added a new tactic at rank 27, Power From The Ashes.

*Pyroclastic Surge now builds 10 Combustion.

*Removed the tactics Deny Strength, Deny Agility, Deny Knowledge, Trembling Weakness, Overwhelming Instability, Deny Vitality, Tangible Fear, Obstruction, Dizzying Bash, Quickened Ferocity and Gushing Wound.
*Feed on the Weary's AP return has been increased.
*Destined for Victory's Morale gain has been increased.
*Baneful Shielding has been moved to rank 35
*Embrace the Winds has had its negative aspect removed.
*Hastened Dismissal now lowers Repel's AP cost as well.
*Added a new tactic at rank 15, Chaotic Advantage

*Tangling Wire is a new Tactic that can be obtained at rank 37. When Barbed Wire ends or is removed, victims are snared and damaged over time.
*Coordinated Fire now causes more additional damage.
*Stopping Power can now be obtained after 3 points into the Path of the Rifleman. Now makes Hip Shot always knockback.
*Hollow-points damage increased, and effect will no longer stack with itself.
*Quick Reloader can now be obtained after 11 points into the Path of the Rifleman. Now further reduces AP cost.
*Extra Powder can now be obtained after 3 points into the Path of the Grenadier. Now further increases radius of Acid Bomb and Fragmentation Grenade.
*Throwing Arm can now be obtained after 7 points into the Path of the Grenadier. Now further increases thrown Grenade range.
*Bandolier can now be obtained after 11 points into the Path of the Grenadier. Now further decreases Grenade AP cost.
*Well-Oiled Machine can now be obtained after 3 points into the Path of the Tinkerer.
*Rune of Warding can now be obtained after 7 points into the Path of the Tinkerer. This now increases your group's Disrupt rate instead of resistance.
*Tracer Rounds can now be obtained after 11 points into the Path of the Tinkerer. Now further increases crit damage.
*Barb Wire now mentions on ability description that it breaks half the time after damage.

Ironbreaker
*Rising Anger now provides mroe Grudge per hit.
*Long Held Grudge has a new effect. Now makes all attacks cause additional hate on monsters.
*Sweet Revenge now increases crit chance more.
*Season Veteran now reduces more damage and procs off of every block.
*Seen It All Before can now be obtained at rank 33. Now also reduces snare effetc durations on you by 50%.
*Dwarven Riposte is a new tactic that can be obtained at rank 35. On parry gain 30 grudge.
*Back In My Day has been removed.
*Overprotective is a new tactic that can be obtained after at least 3 points into the Path of Vengeance. Your Oathfriend gains a damage shield that procs 25% of the time they are damaged.
*Down to Size has been removed.
*Powered Etchings is a new tactic that can be obtained after at least 7 points into the Path of Vengeance. Lowers Rune Etched Axe's cooldown to 10 seconds and makes it knockback targets.
*Swift Shattering has been removed.
*Greataxe Mastery now provides a larger boost.
*Furious Reprisal now makes Shield of Reprisal add 5 seconds of additional cooldown to your target.
*Oath of Vengeance is a new Tactic that can be obtained after at least 7 points into the Path of Stone. Vengeful strike will now also buff the Toughness of your Oath Friend and those around them.
*Hastened Vengeance has been removed.
*Avalanche has a new effect and can be obtained after at least 3 points into the Path of Brotherhood. On Disrupt it will heal you and will now always increase your run speed after a disrupt.
*Punishing Knock is a new tactic and can be obtained after at least 7 points into the Path of Brotherhood. Knock Ye Silly will now knock your target down for 3 seconds.
*Long Training has been removed.
*Rune-Etched Axe will correctly reduce the amount of armor for higher levels of Grudge.
*Grudge Unleashed no longer triggers the global cooldown.
*Vengeful Strike now affects your Oath friend and costs 15 grudge.
*Rune of Iron should now correctly activate when not right next to targets.
*Oathbound now highlights correctly at 30 Grudge.
*Grip of Stone now mentions on ability description that it breaks half the time after damage.
*Heavy Blow no longer ignores defense based on grudge. Now inflicts a short duration DoT based on Grudge.
*Kneecapper now deals more damage but no longer debuffs Initiative. Cooldown reduced, cost increased.
*Knock Ye Silly has been renamed to Inspiring Attack and damage has been increased.

Magus
*Infernal Flesh effect increased. Is now a rank 15 tactic.
*Unearthly Shriek now procs more often, damage bonus reduced, hate generation reduced. Is now a rank 21 tactic.
*Flame's Kiss now makes Flickering Red Fire and Rend Winds undefendable. Is now a rank 27 tactic.
*Lasting Aegis is now twice as effective.
*Redirection now restores AP whenever you disrupt a spell.
*Surging Power now affects Infernal Blast, Surging Violet Fire, and Agonizing Torret. Crit damage has been increased.
*Swift Flames now further reduces Surging Violet Fire's cooldown. Is now a rank 37 tactic. Daemonic Mending effect increased.
*Firey Winds will now always activate but now in a smaller radius. Now requires at least 3 points in the Path of Havoc to learn.
*Changer's Blessing effect much increased. Now requires at least 7 points in the Path of Havoc to learn.
*Chaos Unleashed effect increased.
*Infernal Pain damage increased. Now requires at least 3 points in the Path of Changing to learn.
*Lingering Mist now gives Dissolving Mist a 50% chance to reapply itself whenever the effect ends or is dispelled. Now requires at least 7 points in the Path of Changing to learn.
*Wild Changing effect increased.
*Daemonic Pact effect increased.
*Daemonic Contract now increases bound Daemons damage by 100% while you are near them. This tactic will now lower your AP regen while pet is out, not per boosted attack
*Horrifying Vision will no longer require you to be facing your target.
*Magi will now automatically get different discs as they level up
*Tzeentch's Grip now mentions on ability description that it breaks half the time after damage.

Marauder
*Reduced Subvert Strength's effectiveness.
*Increased Brush Off's effectiveness.
*Increased Rend Asunder's effectiveness.
*Changed Deeply Impaled's effect. It now makes the victim of your Impale more susceptible to being critically hit.
*Reduced Feeding On Fear's duration.
*Feeding On Fear now makes you more susceptible to being critically hit while the proc is in effect.
*Increased Unending Horror's effectiveness.
*Increased Widespread Demolition's effectiveness.
*Increased Piercing Bite's effectiveness.
*Increased Scything Talons's effectiveness.
*Reduced Exhaustive Strikes's effectiveness.
*Increased Growing Instability's effectiveness.
*Unstable Convultions now has a chance to remove an Enchantment, and will deal damage if it does so successfully.
*Increased Hulking Brute's effectiveness.
*Crushing Blows now has a chance to reduce the target's Morale.
*Gift of Release will now appear in your Stance Bar, and using it will revert your hot bar to bar #1

Rune Priest
*Rune of Restoration's healing effect has been increased.
*Rune of Preservation will no longer require you to be facing your target.
*Swift Runes can now be obtained at rank 15.
*Cleansing Vitality proc now restores health over time.
*Regenerative Shielding can now be obtained at rank 27. Now also prevents incoming armor penetration when active.
*That'll Last Forever has been removed.
*Blessing of Grungi is a new tactic obtained at rank 31 that makes critical heals place a buff on your target that increases further healing.
*On your Feet now heals slightly less but also affects Grimnir's Fury.
*Sundered Motion Snare reduced in effectiveness, now also lowers Rune of Sundering's cooldown to 20 seconds.
*Thick Skulled has a new effect and can now be obtained at rank 39. Tactic now prevents setback while casting Rune of Fire, Grungni's Gift or Rune of Serenity.
*Runic Blasting can now be obtained after placing 3 points into the Path of Grungni. Now provides more Crit chance.
*Ancestor's Blessing can now be obtained after placing 7 points into the Path of Grungni. Can no longer proc on self.
*Aggressive Fortune has been removed.
*Rune of Nullification is a new tactic that can be obtained after placing 11 points into the Path of Grungni. On a critical hit, you place a debuff on your target that reduces all incoming heals to 0%.
*Immolating Grasp is a new tactic that can be obtained after placing 3 points into the Path of Valaya. Rune of Immolation gains a 25% chance per tick to both snare your target and reduce their AP.
*Earth's Shielding has a new effect. Now randomly debuffs one of the attackers stat when they strike a Rune of Shielding.
*Efficient Rune Carving now has a chance to make Rune of Mending instant cast instead of free.
*Concussive Runes is a new tactic that can be obtained after placing 3 points into the Path of Grimnir. Attacks in the path of Grimnir will have a 25% chance to Detaunt your target.
*Ancestor's Echo is a new tactic that can be obtained after placing 3 points into the Path of Grimnir. Heals gain a 25% chance to proc a damage absorb shield.

Shadow Warrior
*Distracting Shot will no longer require you to be facing your target.
*Removed Dizzying Fire.
*Removed Eagle's Claw.
*Moved Bullseye to a base tactic at rank 33.
*Moved Wrist Slash to a base tactic at rank 21.
*Moved Guerrilla Training to the Path Of The Scout.
*Moved Merciless Soldier to the Path Of Assault.
*Added a new tactic at rank 27, Smoldering Arrows.

-Changed the bonuses to critically hit at each threshold of Dark Magic.
-Each threshold of Dark Magic will now also increase the bonus damage from a critical hit.
-Changed the chances to cause a Backlash for all thresholds of Dark Magic.
-The damage you suffer from an Backlash is now based on the threshold of Dark Magic that you have built up to, with the lowest threshold being drastically less than the current damage, and the highest threshold being slightly more.
*Dread Aspect will no longer require you to be facing your target.
*Added a new ability, Dhar Wind, which will expend all of your Dark Magic and turn it into an undefendable attack. The strength of the attack is based on the threshold of Dark Magic that you had built up to.
*Doombolt now builds 10 Dark Magic.

Tome of Knowledge
*Bragging Rights! Players can now click on any tome unlock they have in the Tome of Knowledge (for now, right-click on the text of the unlock) and set it as a Bragging Right. Players can set up to 10 Bragging Rights via the Tome, and then view them on an additional tab in their Character Window. (Player inspection of Bragging Rights will soon follow!)
*Pocket item slots are now properly labeled on the Character Window.
*Discovering a Public Quest will now place a marker for that location on your main map. These markers can be toggled on or off via the interface on the main map.
*The Bestiary is full of fun activities involving furry, feathered, and/or fearsome foes! In this patch, all previous Bestiary tasks were audited; bugs fixed, and polish added. As if that wasn't enough, a whole slew of new tasks (100+) have been added for you to discover in your travels!
*In addition, the Bestiary now has a number of discovery tasks available based on Player Classes and Races! Collect them all!
*The History and Lore section of the Tome of Knowledge was audited; bugs fixed, polish added, and generally all around spiffiness improved!
*Along with the above audits, continued cleanup and corrections have been made across the entire Tome of Knowledge.
*The following new races have been added to the Bestiary: Maggots, Slimehounds, Living Armor, and Treemen. These races and their tasks will be available soon for your perusal! (Note: Since there are no mobs for these, the players will likely not be able to unlock them, thus the 'coming soon.')
*The Tome of Knowledge entries for Battlefield Objectives and Keeps have been updated to ensure they are up to date.

User Interface

Features
*Complete overhaul to the appearance of the Abilities Window. This allows players to switch between actions, morale, tactics, and general skills with sub-sorts on the side of the window that allow players to quickly find abilities of a certain type within those sections. The general tab on this window will also display the players' passive skills, so that players can learn about what armor types and weapon types they are capable of wearing.
*Made improvements to the binding system, including consistent references to 'setting your rally point' and speaking with rally masters in each chapter. We've also renamed the item to the Book of Binding. Additionally there is now more feedback when a player sets their rally point.
*Massive improvements to backpack performance, optimizing it by about 75% at its maximum capacity. We've also lowered the starting size of the backpack (32 spaces) and given players the opportunity to increase it to a maximum of 80 spaces. Players gain 16 additional backpack slots every 10 ranks until rank 30.
*Server-side restructure of the inventory to optimize and streamline. This also incidentally fixes a number of inventory-related bugs.
*Reworked the stats section on the Character Window. This should fix a number of incorrect formulas that were calculating statistics. We also added a number of stats and increased the number of possible sections to five.
*The In Game Mail window has been updated with new UI art. This update also includes numerous bug fixes, including clearer information about attachments, and items that are CoD.
*Continued improvements in Character Creation including optimization of character loading, though we are still working on additional loading improvements.
*Added a section to the Performance area in User Settings that will allow players to set ability effects to show: never, only on themselves, only from their party, only from their warband, or from all players. This should help players to increase targeted improvements in RVR, for example.
*Additions of logos to the pre-game sequence.
*Some improvements to the Layout Editor, including functionality to move multiple windows at the same time, as well as 'snapping' so that players do not have to precisely line up windows when they are editing them.

Bug Fixes
*Fixed several bugs where a full inventory was causing items to get deleted through various interactions.
*Fixed bug where rolling greed during RVR was preventing anyone from getting the loot.
*Fixed bug where Tome titles were not displaying to other players.
*Fixed bug where it tells you that you can remove abilities on the hotbar by shift+right-clicking when the bar is locked.
*Fixed the missing target arrow.
*Fixed the issue where the target circles were appearing dim.
*Added an ability effects option to the performance section on User Settings.
*Removed passive abilities from the Training window.
*Fixed bug with inverted camera on siege
*Renamed PQ loot bags in the window to match their item name.
*Fixed bugs with exploiting buyback.
*Fixed bugs exploiting the apothecary system.
