Ok since DAOC of late has gotten really old and that poll about new games has inspired me to look for a new game, my thoughts turned to Everquest 2.
I heard a lot of people saying that everquest is a joke and crap like that so i thought i would ask some questoins.
Is everquest 2 gonna have ne RvR or PvP or is it mainly a PvE game?
Are the characters much like DAOC where basically they are the same?
Is lvling harder or easier then in DAOC?
Are there guilds?
can u craft?
is it worth buying it and playing it day in and day out?
well im off to school

EQ is mainly a PVE game, how ever there is just so much of it it takes a while to get bored. Then again EQ 2 will have a PVP server, now in IMHO EQ pvp had its strong points but in the end it came down to who could twink out there char then wTF PWN PPL. Now EQ 2 has learned from the mistakes of EQ 1 so in part 2 the system will be simmilar to DAOC in regards to loot, and decay, this in turn should keep the twinking to a miniumum or at least lower the overall effectiveness of twinked out phat lewtz. As far as GFX they are going to be superb which makes my current system cry. Content EQ had alot of bad points but as far as places to go ppl to see and things to kill it always had alot. Fuck I soloed in EQ pvp for about a year and i still havent seen all it had to offer as far of places to see. Lastly Classes, EQ classes were very fleshed out as opposed to DAOC chars who are spread thin so they look more appealing. SO once again EQ wins there. Only time will tell but im pretty sure the new crop of MMORPGS will be pretty fking good.

The main reason the newer MMORPGs will be better is that each succession learns from their predecessor. EQ pvp sucked ass pretty much and DAOC fixed most of that. EQ 2 looked at what EQ and DAOC did right and wrong and expounded from there. EQ2 probably has the best chance to be the best of pvp and pve.

I typed a pretty long outloook regarding EQ from my 3 years of playing the game. It is under the thread started by Law titled "Next New game" or something like that.
You may want to read that.

I was hooked on EQ1 for 3 years, and never really got tired of it... I played on the PvP servers and had alot of fun. EQ2 from what I understand is going to be awsome and I hope it doesn't have the Item tweaking problem like in EQ1. A newbie could wear a freakin high lvl item with no consequences. I also partially disagree on how much EQ PvP sucked... it wasn't so bad, more of a free for all or GuildVGuild.
EQ2 characters will age

can't wait to see it.

I played an ogre shaman on a carebear server in EQ for over 2 years.
I had tons of fun, but that was before I really tasted any sort of PvP. After playing SB here and there, DAOC modred/andred and even DAOC rvr I think I wouldnt be able to play any game ever again that was entirely PvE.
The biggest problem i had with Eq1 was this. I hit the top levels, I saw most if not all of the world, I did my epic, and I had "uber" gear.. after all this I was left with a feeling of "so now what?". It was a really bitter feeling too. I ended up selling my account for a good amount of money (I think I sold it for 500-600 bucks).
BUT.. I do plan on playing EQ2. Im going to play on the pvp server and check it out. That is.. if there is a pvp server and if there is no other form of pvp on normal servers.
Next game for me is Shadowbane, then when EQ2 is released ill buy and subscribe to that as well.
