128meg geforce 6600 for 135$ or so
or 256 meg 5700 for 100$
are these cards going to perform pretty much the same?

is the radeon 9800 or w/e better or worse then 6800? I currently have p4 2.4ghz, 1gig ram, and g4 ti4200 64mb card. Looking to get a card for <$200 for christmas

6800 is really fast.

Here's a decent graph with general benchmarks. you can scroll through to see other benchmarks for all the same # of video cards.
with anti aliasing on,
x800 variants and 6800 variants are in a class of their own.
anyways check it out
i doubt you can find a 6800 in the same price range as a 9800pro though.
6800's will run you around $300.
