Guild Housing

Postby Eirene » Mon Jun 23, 2003 11:28 am

We need to figure out our guild house. Mansions are 100 Plat. Please let me know what kind of house you want and what do you want in it.

I know I can afford to pitch in for a giant guild home.

Cottage deed, 1 platinum (1000 gold)
House deed, 10 p (10,000 g)
Villa deed, 50 p (50,000 g)
Mansion deed, 100 p (100,000 g)

Porch deed, 1 p (1000 g)
Bindstone, 1 p (1000 g)
Vault, 1 p (1000 g)

Alchemy table, 4 p (4000 g)
Forge, 4 p (4000 g)
Lathe, 4 p (4000 g)

Hastener, 100 gold
Smith, 100 g
Enchanter, 100 g
Emblemeer, 100 g
Recharger, 100 g

Healer, 5 platinum (5000 g)

Consignment Merchant, 1 p (1000 gold)

Grandmaster Merchant, 500 gold
Siege Merchant, 500 g
Snowdonia, Druim Cain, or Vindsaul Faste Teleporter, 500 g

All other merchant and teleporter types - 100 gold
*******************************************
If we went with a guild villa, thats 50 plat
I know you guys will want the following:
Seige Merchant (500g)
Healer (5 P)
Bindstone (1p)
Transporter (aegir and svadsu= 100g each) 200g
Vaults 2 - 2 plat

Thats a total of 58.7 plat
If everyone in the guild donated 500gold, I think we will be good.

I would like to stake claim in the town of Jervaulx in Erikstaad. Its close to a market place and mularn entrance.

Later we can add Crafting tables and merchants, if needed.

I'm tempted to reactivate my account and chip in! I would love to see a BWC mansion! Go for it!

Is there any plans to allow personal bounty points to pay for housing?

Personally I think housing is a fluffy waste that no one will care about after the initial couple months. Seige merchant being the best argument and secondly guild vaults (will we use them though?).

But 58 plat?!!! Ouch! If everyone else wants to kick in 500g I will to, but would rather pay with personal bounty points if they let us.

But I also think personal bounty points are a waste and I have 25,000 of them I would donate to the guild.

Also on a side note - Merchant Keeps strategic value just went way down.

Josh- The use of Bounty points come when paying rent on the foundation. You can purchase Bounty point tokens to "Upkeep" the Guild home.

We're talking about the "Initial" stage for a guild home. It will cost us 58.7 plat to start out then the entire guild can purchase bounty point tokens to pay the weekly rent to upkeep the guild house.

Besides fluff, what does housing offer that we can't get by binding in Aegir?

Two things: Guild vault & siege merchant.

Beyond that it adds no value. None. Strictly bragging rights.

A villa will cost us 1 plat a week in rent Who is going to pay that? I sure hope I won't be required to farm mobs for an hour a week to pay my 50g in rent, so our guild can have a house to brag about. :P

I would propose that we get the smallest house we can and still fit a single shared vault and a siege merchant. We don't need to bind in our house, binding in aegir adds the same value without any cost. Save the expense of housing only for the things that add extra value. When we need something from the guild vault or siege merchant we can port to the housing zone to pick it up.

Because I don't need a flashy virtual house...

Prices are laughable imho - 100P for a mansion and a 2pp burn rate in maintaining it per week.

I agree with Josh - smaller is better in this case ;)

Sad that a mansion is pretty much out of reach for a guild the size of BWC.

I agree with Josh here.

Smallest house to obtain the things we need.

This is way too much money and I am not pveing or pharming for money ever.

Well I want Fluff :P

I'll purchase a cottage (using the crafting money I saved up) and have you guys look at it. Then we can upgrade if necessary.

Interesting VN post against housing...

"Illuminati
Membership: 417 active characters played by 165 members.
Guild Realm Points: 42,512,237

I'm the sole GM of the 2nd largest guild on Gawaine. Was the largest for the past year until a newer guild did a mass invite of new players.

I can tell you right now, there is NO WAY my guild is buying guild housing..at all!!! This game is meant to be fun, a release from real life. There is NO WAY that I'm gonna ask my guildies to log on and farm money to afford a guild house of 100plat + 95plat deed price. Even if the deed price comes down. I'm sorry, it's not happening.

This game is not a job, Mythic! I would much rather take the money saved for housing and turn it into MP armor and SC/Alc so that guildies can have fun out in RvR.

The only thing you have done by setting prices so high was pull people out of RvR so that they can mindlessly pharm your loot.

I will not do that to my guild. Should be very interesting to see how many people quit DAoC when SWG goes live in 2 days. I have no doubts now there will be a mass exodus. I know your decisions on pricing was the final straw for me to actually consider playing SWG.

Would it have been so difficult for ya'll to put prices at a reasonable amount so that people could actually have fun playing your game?

Very bad blunder and one of the worst marketing decisions I've ever seen in online gaming with the release of a much anticipated game 2 days away.

Nice job!

Well, regardless of what we do, I have enough BP's for 20 plat worth of rent and would gladly contribute them.

We do need some guild house just for the seige merchant at the very least. And as a guild we may want to talk about how we would use a shared vault - though that seems more suited to a PVE guild.

Ditto on Ugnot here. He has 22-25k or so.

Plan #2

Purchase a Guild House

10 Platinum

1 p (bindstone)
1 p (2 vaults)

500 g (seige merchant)
100 g ( port to aegir)
100 g (port to uppland)
100g (port to jord)

Total cost is 13 plat

This is what I'll be purchasing with my own funds or if anyone wants to contribute 100g to get the initial house.

2 houses provides more utility for the cost versus 1 villa or mansion.

Personally, I think all we'll need is a regular home. Villa's and Mansions are just way too big, and not worth the money. Pick out a regular home, or get 2 of em, and set them up accordingly. We can bind there, craft there, sell our schtuff there, and port to wherever we want from there. I don't really have the cash to be able to help with the initial set up, but I got plenty for rent.
