Molten Core Raid--Sat

Postby Eirene » Fri Feb 11, 2005 12:11 am

Molten Core Raid

12 pm pst/3 pm est Saturday 2/12 Meeting in Kargath

Level 60 required; 56+ for priests, druids, shamans.

This is a BWC/Reso/Obliteration Raid Only. Contact Hall or I if you want to bring a friend from another guild. We're not inviting anyone from VV.

We will be doing a head count of those wanting to go tomorrow (Friday).

Loot rules:
Epic items drop from normal mobs and either BoE/BoP. There will be a representative from each guild that will roll on behalf of the guild member in "need" of the "epic" item. (Hall will be our representative) You will need to indicate in GUILD CHAT if you are interested in the item and we will do a roll, along with Reso and Oblit representatives. If you cry and whine about an item in guild and raid chat, you will be removed from the raid. If I left anything out, Chris will clarify the rest of rules.

If you are planning to go:
* Stock up on Heal potions if you are melee class
* Stock up on Mana potions if you are caster/healing class
* Wear PvE gear/use PvE weapons (and even possible try to obtain fire resistance items)
* Mages: Should conjure enough water/food water for 5-10 people 30 mins before raid time.
* Shamans/Priests/Druids should have enough reagents for group buffs.

And so on...
The message buck stops here.

Not sure exactly how long it will last, but I would guess no less than 6 hours before we wipe enough to decide to call it quits. Hopefully though, we don't wipe that much, and we can make it through some of the boss encounters. If you want to know some of the inner workings of this instance, and would like to read up on the beastiary, I would advise going to www.conquest-guild.com I was confused as to how VV was doing so well in MC when I last heard about it, as I've played with them before, and know how "well" they play. This guide is probably the sole reason for their success, which is why I believe we will do good.

Also note, I would prefer all healers to be over level 58 (we will be taking people according to level first, so if there is a 58 and 56 healer both trying for the same spot, unfortunantely we will have to take the 58 to try to keep the raid up longer).

As far as loot rules goes, Kim pretty much got it straight up. Supposedly there is roughly a 5% chance for epic items to drop in MC, there are also various skill books that drops, and epics drop from the bosses. These items are typically BoE, however, the same loot rules apply for the BoP epics that the bosses will most likely drop.

Each guild will have one designated member that rolls for items. The guild that wins said item will be removed from the loot pool until both the other guilds have won an item (this includes BoP items, so, if you win a BoE item off random mobs inside the core, then you will not be eligible to random for the BoP item that drops off a boss). Also note: This rule will carry over into all MC raids, therefore, if Oblit and Reso both win an item on this raid, and BWC does not, due in no small part to Hall's horibble rolling skills, BWC gets the first crack at the first epic that drops on the next raid. If a guild has no classes present, nor any real people that will use a particular item and they are the only guild that remains to roll, if one of the other guilds would like said item, they can choose to forfeit their second round roll and take the item, providing it's okay with the third guild present. This way no guild wins an epic that's not useful to at least one of their members. There will be no FFAing of epics. If none of the guild wants an epic, it will either be defaulted to the guild that still needs to roll, or it will be randomed on by whoever is left to roll, and it will count as your epic win. I highly doubt that anything down there is worthless.

All loot distribution will be done in-house. If you feel like you have worked hard enough and deserve an epic, then you need to hope that your officers/gm/representative agrees. All items, once they enter into a specific guild, will no longer be of concern to the raid. We have nothing else to do with it, if you are unhappy with a decision a GM or officer made, or feel you didn't have a fair chance at winning, that's something you need to take up with them at another time. If people start getting pissed and leaving because they haven't won items, they will not be invited to more raids. We need everyone to be here to help everyone get something. There is no "mememe" in raids like these. I expect to get 6 drops at the most, assuming we kill two bosses. So please, don't "plan" on walking away with uber shit, plan on walking away with the knowledge that we are probably going to get further next time with less wipes and frustration, and that maybe you will get your uber lewtz then. Hopefully everyone has fun :D

I think it was a good learning experience.

First, we needed more priests/mages. Mobs in there cast 50% stamina debuffs/50% intelligence debuff curses. We had 4 Mages total (1 under 60) and 4 priests (1 under 60) out of 8 groups. Priests can dispel the "Stamina Debuff" but not enough mages to dispell the curses. I know we would run out of power when mob was a 1/4 percent down.

Second, I think we did very well when we just killed the bugged spawn at the entrance. Even though we died twice, at least it was satisfaction we didn't "use" the CQ tactic. I know VV used the "CQ" tactic (as they were telling Oblit on how they did it). Ancient Hounds are very annoying. They respawn every 15-20 mins. They caused one or two wipes.

Well, I think we started to make progress when we were used to pulling mobs and working together. At the beginning, had some problems with one or 2 Oblit members zoning in while we were explaining the rules and had to be resummoned back to MC. (Once you zone out, you are back at top of Blackrock Mtn)

BWC is out of "House Epic" pool, until Reso and Oblit win items. Kandar won the epic druid bracers. We agreed BWC will not roll on any Rogue items and consider as a "pass".

Other than lack of priests and mages, MC is do-able. We had 37 but went down to 32 in the end. We may need to repair and go back again.

Yep, I learned and when we go again I'll be more ready. And I didn't even have to use my AK, so it was a good day.
