Are we buying a sigil or trying to win one?

Postby heartless_ » Mon May 09, 2005 7:09 am

Seems that you can only get a guild hall if you win a HoH match or if a winning team sells you one. The sigil vendors do not sell them until one of these winning teams sell them to the vendor... which still everyone is unsure of whether only one becomes available there or if once one is sold to a vendor everyone can buy one from then on.

Seems 30,000 is the going price for the ones being sold by the HoH team wins.

So either we get some good strategy together to take a King of the Hill match or we pony up the cash.

well we need to finish our pve before we can think about a sigil. I know alot of our players are not 20 yet and not in the ubah gear

Skill > Gear pretty much... gear will come eventually.

A good group of 8 players will win out the uber decked out newbs.

20 isn't too far off if you just push for the missions. I just haven't had the time to play and a few hours I've gotten 14.

aye gear isn't the deciding factor you can go out and pvp right away. but we all HAVE to be 20. i know with armor it isn't a big deal but i have pvped at 19 and gotten my ass beaten there is a huge difference in levels. so it goes levels>skills>>>>>>armor ;) so all will just have to push through the missions :D

Levels don't mean that much I don't think... it really just lets you max out your main attribute and chances are the current level 20's are running their set ups they've planned for months.

Gear gives the edge in a good gamer vs good gamer match.

don't let this non-lewt centric game fool you about levels. If your not 20 your a gimp plain and simple.

At 20 you get 170 attribute points the other 30 are obtained threw 2 quests after doing all the missions.

Being 20 and not having your final spec gimps yourself a good deal. If you were to be 9swordsmanship vs 12+3 by Pveing and doing a few quests it could be as must as a 50% dmg difference.

Yes running around with 8skills at 20 and being awesome PvP player will kill 95% of the pugs out there. BUT having that added advantage of Expert Skills puts you on a slightly higher playing feild.

But then again, a guild of 8 with a good strategy would defeat us even if we all had 5ft' Peckers as swords. and +1,000 skill

you don't have to run rp toons in pvp guys.

i don't.

i have a mo/r in pve, it's decked out with nice runes and shit, but the bottom line is, a pvp toon has everything my rp toon has and more. and I use a pvp toon in pvp. especially those weapons... it's not easy getting 40% skill recharge, 20% cast speed in divine favor AND have the 20% skill recharge 40% cast speed in healing touch combo.

I've done quite a bit pvp, and I have only found the npc who gives the +12/20%/20% for healing.. i haven't foudn the other 3 yet, and those are godly in pvp. healing for most healing stuff + restore life, divine when i'm dishing out p&h's. same with the ranger..... i sure as hell wasn't going to spend 30k plats on a 15%dmg health > 50% max dmg longbow and shortbow... i probably wouldn't have spent the effort buying even 1 of them... they're rare as fuck and you'd have to camp lion's arch for hours to find one on sale. not to mention, they're either selling you the collector's one from mineral springs (which is an ascalon bow.. bleh), and you rarely ever find the short bow version (good rangers use both).

on the guild sigil thing: i don't suggest you buy a sigil.... if you're not skilled enough to earn one on your own, competing on the ladder will just be discouraging, because you will be fighting vs a lot of guilds who did earn it on their own.

in the hall of heros you can use a pvp pre made toon thats max att points and various skills on the roster however its nice if ya just unlock alot of the skills on your main do the class change quest start unlockin that class spell list and p00f repeat as needed.

all skills spells and runes you unlock go towards your pvp toons

and i would say you just run the hall of heros to get your sigil the current cost of a sigil is about 83k+ . besides its cake to win in the hall of heros if ya all work together and communicate as a team and have the right build and have a min of 3 monks
Hoofing it proud for the Horde fuck me feet hurt =)
