~Called Verizon today and they told me the rep who filled out the request form for my new dsl modem filled out the information incorrectly and my order was 'lost'..
-Order placed again today 4-5 business days for shipping..

Needless to say I bitched my head off and got 2 months free.

I hate Verizon they have the worst customer support ever! I moved once and had to change my DSL over it took forever and a day to do it and I had the same problems you are having.

They wanted to give me some special deal for ADSL service at first I said ok sounds cheap so ill cancel my old ISP for SDSL service at the time I didnt know what the difference was. Well I called my old ISP and they said are you kidding we have a better rate for SDSL and SDSL is better. I asked why? SDSL is Static IP and ADSL is random IP....which means you never have the same IP like 56K and it randomly kicks you off the internet when you are inactive. Like playing games and such. Well this pissed my off so I went to Verizon to ask how much their SDSL was. It was like almost 200 dollars and considered a business function only. Needless to say I cancelled and went with Linkline which was 45 for SDSL.

Im happy and never had any problems.

The primary difference between adsl and sdsl is the Upload rate. Unless you like to upload files to people alot, adsl is a better choice.

Adsl typically has a much higher download cap than SDSL, but the upload is crippled. Thats absolutely 100% fine with games and downloading things, cause upload is hardly ever used. However, if you are uploading something, you can download at only a fraction of the rate you normally do.

SDSL eliminates the "oneway"-ness of ADSL, but typically at a lower download rate (ie 45/45 sdsl vs 120/16 adsl).
