Look at some guilds in the bwc alliance Esprit de Corps and Dark Wanderers.

Esprit de Corps <- who are they? never seen any of them.

Membership: 82 active characters played by 30 members.

EsD joined our alliance last week and are all relativly new level 50s and new to rvr. i know areca and majesticone quite well and group with them almost every day. smalfren is their gm and i've grouped with him quite a few times over the last two weeks as well. none of them are particularly hardcore or experienced players, but all of them are very polite people who ask how they can do something better and do what you ask

about three weeks ago they mentioned how disapointed they were with their old alliance (frami sigi-whatever) so i suggested talking with their gm about applying with us for a more active rvr alliance.

dark wanderers i don't know though :huh:

and i rarely see any of them rvring, other than Hobz

The problem is a gamewide one, and not just our alliance.

Beyond the top 10 guilds, RP's per member start to get pretty dismal.

what josh pointed out happens basicly everywhere

people who rvr "hardcore" (and are actually good at it

) are few and far in between and tend to always end up in the same guild. the result is dominant guilds on servers, like BWC is for mid/merlin and Souls of Legend is on alb/tristan (and The Guard was until about this time last year), end up essentially drawing all of the talent and leadership out of other guilds.

this isn't necessarily a bad thing for the realm though because one strong guild can certainly get more done than multiple smaller guilds, but at the same time we can't expect them to keep pace with us.

but im doing pve week atm, so im not getting any rps, feel dumb to tell anyone else to get 10k rps / member a week. Which i think should be the minimum limit.

Dark Wonderers - PvE
Dmg Inc. - PvE
Midnight's Fury - Left Merlin except 3 members
Tingtong - Just got a healer yesterday
Ascendancy - Emjays crew
MDoM - Doing well as always
Lords of Fate - Left DAoC
Espirit - PvE (Majesticone is new GM. Most Esprit members are always in BWC groups (like 2) for RVR...going to wait 3-4 weeks and see if we want to pick them up as guild members because I don't think the guild is going to last)
Evo - Just came back to Merlin, capacity still unknown (Just invited them to alliance yesterday. They are back.)

I think we've got a little whacked out on stats and "other people should be playing the way I like". We are not going to make ourselves stronger by bitching at people. That is not what motivates people to play a game. We need to make things fun. If people have fun, they'll want to come again. (And that right there is why Super is such an outstanding leader. Because we all have fun when we run with him.)

I don't care what the RP's per member from Esprit de Corp is. What I care is that I see Majesticone & Areca out grouping with our alliance every single night. What do I care that they are in a guild with a bunch of carebears? Same with Fury - yipee may be an asshole, but he's active and always running with the alliance (yah yah, mostly Emjay). <F> may not have a lot of members, but the ones they have will RVR with us. Same thing with Lords of Fate, there may not be many of them left, but at least they are with us when they are on. And that right there is what counts. Merlin is thin right now, there aren't a ton of great guilds to choose from.

Kicking guilds out to set an example - thats not gonna strengthen the alliance. Maybe if we had a waiting list of hungry guilds to replace them but we don't. All kicking guilds does is make us thinner. Quota's aren't gonna work either. People don't play games to meet quota's. All that is gonna do is lessen the number of alliance members that can claim a keep, and it's going to make people not like us. I'm not talking that I want to please the server, but having cannon fodder with us when we need it benefits us! So I say we promote RVR, and we keep who we can if they are adding any value at all.

Shit - In BWC last week, out of 106 characters, 62 did not break 10k. Only about 20 chars broke 25k. And thats even after Law is doing his kicking of characters that haven't logged on for 2 weeks.

The server is thin right now. Lets focus on building what we have. We can be picky later.
