so i bought a new sound card ...............................

ok i have an asus mobo a7v333 that has on board sound and win xp (yes i'm running an athlon card). I decide hey lets buy a 5.1 sound blaster card so i buy the card. I install it and right after the drivers and hook my speakers up i get sound woot. i shut down the pc again (after i rebooted to test the sound and yes it worked) i log back on later in the evening and no sound period :nervous: i thought to disable the onboard sound card it doesn't give me the option to. i need help bad i only got the sound card because my mic stopped working when daoc logged on so i could use teamspeak/ventrill in game now i have no frigging sound >.< please help aim me at zeemanSRQ or yahoo adida1977 or email me please i'm desparate :D

only quick thing I could think of is dbl click the volume control

Click options and make sure advanced controls is checked then click the advanced button under the main volume

Make sure digital output only is not checked.

just uninstall the onboard sound drivers.

On board sound is a scary thing if you decide not to use it. Such a trouble maker! Check your sound options like Barbos said. I'd have to dig up the Manual to find out how they make you disable the sound for that mobo, but let us know what else you find.

it won't let me disable the card at all. i went in bios looking for the option then i grabbed the manual and i thought i might be overlooking it but it doesn't even give me the damn option at all in bios. >.< so i'm stuck with no sound :(

ok i'll try that i got sound out of it now my system keeps crashing and hopefully moving the switch will help with that. (i had to disable my new card so my system didn't crash)

Also try moving the card to another slot if you still have problems.

i tried all of that but i still had driver issues >.< i took the card out and no problems i just can't use voice programs when i play daoc >.<
