For those intending on playing WoW

Postby Mysst » Mon Sep 20, 2004 6:39 pm

Q u o t e from http://worldofwar.net/articles/london2004/
-------------------------------------
Initially servers will be forced. This means that people in the US will have to choose between East and West. Europeans wont be able to play on the US servers and vice versa. The Asian servers will obviously also be cut off from others.

The servers are being forced as the Producer stressed the need for a low latency, but I was told that there will be an option shortly after launch for people to change to any server (against Blizzards recommendation), as they know there are people desperate to play on specific servers regardless.
--------------------------------------

If you want to be able to play with your guildies and friends,
Please sign the petition against this plan.

This was all over VN boards when it first came out ... I think Blizzard will need to seriously re-think this as most large guilds have members that span multiple countries.

As a Canadian we'll probably get thrown into the U.S. east server ... or maybe they are going to ban us! ;) hehe

If you read the thread on the WoW boards, US players will have a choice as to east or west coast servers during sign up. That information is mainly for those outside North America who want to play the US release.

lol those petition online sites crack me up.... if people think they do anything they are crazy because you can enter like 100 times with the same person. its just a big old scam to collect email addresses for spam purposes. some people are so gullable
